“Kit – Bette talks about her a lot – eh – what do you mean by dressing up ? “
“What it sounds like – no jeans or sneakers- formal wear “
Helena saw the look of horror on Tina’s face
“Relax Tina – that’s what I was thinking about. How about a bit of colluding to make her fall a little deeper in love with you ?“
Tina looked blank
“So far has Bette seen you in a dress ?”
“I don’t own a dress Helena “
“Okay – so we get you a posh frock and some heels “
“I’ve never walked in heels “
Helena shook her head – Tina really was a Tom boy
“Do you own any make up ?”
“No “ by now Tina was looking miserable. Helena read her in an instant
“Tina Kennard – do not even think about hiding in your room all evening because that would be rude and Bette wants to show you off “
“Show what off ? “
“The woman she loves. Look – trust me – we will get you a nice posh frock and we’ll curl your hair and Bette will be on her knees wanting you “
Tina raised an eyebrow
“Really ? “
“I assume that you have never seen Bette wearing a black dress that shows off her long legs and with a front that shows her rather fine cleavage that I see you ogling at every opportunity ? “
Tina shook her head dumbly
“Then Ms Kennard you need to. If you think Bette is hot in Levis and boots and a shirt – you are in for a treat “
Tina thought for a few seconds
“Will you help me ? “
“I just told you that I will. Peggy thinks that you are a looker in the making . I think making your woman’s jaw drop should get you into a frock ?”
“I would do anything for Bette “
“Good – make up, heels and a frock it is Ms Kennard. Cinderella – you shall have Prince Charming Porter “

Sorry to hear about your break-up, ally… Hm, you’re already listening to Beatles, Zep and Queen… how about some Elton? Bowie? Hendrix? Stones? The Monkees? When I feel a bit down and need a sing-a-long, I just start going through 70’s/80’s tracks… the cheesier the better. ABC, Culture Club, Madonna, Duran Duran, Adam Ant, Supertramp, ELO (espec. Mr Blue Skies!)… the list is endless. When I’m angry as well as down, then I gotta go for Sabbath or AC/DC or Rage Against the Machine or… hm, I’m blabbing, and I’ve not even said how much I liked the chapter! Anyway, I hope the fracture starts to heal (chocolate *can* help, a little) and I hope the writing-as-therapy results in more good chapters like the ones you’ve posted today. Take care
I thought in an episode of Sex and The City someone was dumped via a Post-It note. That had to be the worst but very funny. Hopefully, your moment will soon feel insignificant, too. I love The Rolling Stones for rocking away.
i know the break up sucks, but i think you would rather know the truth, then have your ex pretend through another holiday, i know i would….but don’t forget there are plenty of us fishes still in the sea!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll have to come back to read later, I’m off to visit dear old Mom now that the roads are passable for the first time in 3 days. Got blown sideways while driving along recklessly at 22 mph Tuesday evening. Damn, I need a good team of sled dogs! Anyway, I say go punk! Iggy Pop and Patti Smith will take your mind off things. On Valentine’s, huh? That sucks. Well, like Crosby, Stills and Nash once advised: love the one you’re with, namely yourself. After all, you know just what to do and exactly when to do it.

I’m sorry to hear what happen to you. By my standards, that was ABSOLUTLY UGLY to break up with someone on Valentine’s and in the am EKKKK. I love your idea of theapy though—WRITE girl WRITE. I can hardly wait to see Bette drooling over Tina (and visa versa) at the dinner. Yeah, Kit enters the story. Always look to the positive Ally and your writing certainly is that and we all REALLY appreciate you :o)

The banter between the three about the “few conditions” was priceless… Was laughing my ass off! And mmmmmm…. can’t wait to have them both all sexy in those dresses (but not for too long I hope) and see their reaction to each other… Helena is a sweetheart! But not as sweet as you, Ally! ;)
I agree with Kword, the witty banter in the restaurant was frigging HILARIOUS. I truly loved it and couln’t stop laughing. Needless to say the whole chapter was absolutely charming. As for a song that could cheer you up… Well… Let’s see… Eric Idle singing “Always Look On the Bright Side Of Life” always does it for me. In fact, you might want to consider re-watching “Life of Brian”. Really, who needs therapy when you got the Monty Python ? LOL ! Once again, thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us.

Ally, Babes you know that we are all here for you. So just let me know if there is anything I can do for you at this time. Hearts do break but they also mend. As for this delightful drama, this was another top notch chapter. There is just a real sense of the love that Bette and Tina share. It is addictive and contagious as everyone another them is onfected with good humor and envy. Love that Helena is really there for her sister by helping Tina. Good to see that Tina’s kind efforts in assisting Helena scholastically are being paid back in the fashion sense. This is bound to be a fabulous festive season and I am desperate to see what it brings. Your talent and gift for marrative and dialogue astound me at every turn. Love this update. You go Bette. Love how when it came right down to it, she stood her ground and proclaimed her love for Tina. Wait till Bette see’s her all dressed up. Sorry to hear about the break up. Worst one I ever had was right before a concert with Air Supply. Hello, as if they’re songs weren’t sad and sappy enough, try it when your sitting with someone who told you right before the concert that it was over. But, hey I got over it.
