Bette started to cry again “Babe “
Tina pulled her lover close and kissed her softly on the cheek
“Its okay – we are really good at the moment and we need to keep it that way. We have something amazing between us and we love each other very much. I trust you Bette – I know you wouldn’t be unfaithful to me “
“I wouldn’t – I swear to you “
Tina stroked Bette’s hair and pulled her close. It had been a long day and very emotional – she felt tired – the adrenaline rush of the show had finally slammed into her and she could feel her eyes growing heavy. She nestled closer and slipped her leg between Bette’s. Bette knew enough about her lover to know that she was worn out. Carefully Bette eased them up and pulled the duvet over the two of them – she tugged at the towel and smiled at the still damp naked body of her lover. Bette blew out the candles and snuggled down next to Tina.
One of Bette’s favourite pleasures was lying listening to Tina sleep. It reminded her so much of the first few days of them being lovers. Lying in the dark, naked and sweaty after a night of passion and listening to her partner fast asleep beside her had been a joy that she had not expected. But those hours before she fell asleep herself had been the time to process the day – -to come to terms with how good it felt that she was in love and so content. She had made so many vows during those first nights –the one she remembered the most was that she would never take for granted the joy and happiness that Tina brought her. She was in danger of messing up the wonderful thing that she had because of her own timidity – was she supposed to be a Porter?
She smiled at the thought of how Melvin and Kit would deal with someone moving in on their lover? One evening she had been dragged out with Melvin and Peggy at some charity fund raiser and a very smooth younger man had come onto Peggy. Melvin had been supremely polite but made it very clear that Peggy was HIS partner and he would stand no one coming onto HIS woman. Bette kissed Tina’s bare skin – yes – she was going to be polite but firm. If she
messed up their amazing relationship it would be because of their faults and flaws – not because some tart came between them.

So glad Tina help Bette get through this. Now Bette has to find a backbone and put Jodie in her place. It can be quite annoying when people just can’t take no for an answer.
Why is Bette such a namby-pamby when it comes to telling Jodi to step off?? She seems so weak and it’s not a very attractive characteristic. Is that b/c she feels tempted and is going to cheat sometime in the near future? Is she wondering what other women would be like? Afterall, they are young and not immune to attractive people in their circle. Just wondering why Bette seems to be floundering so.
Ally – you are wonderful – thanks for thinking about your dear readers and churning out the chapters before you go to celebrate your new love! this was a great chapter but why Bette is such a wimp I don’t complete comprehend – I know she’s inexperienced but she loves her woman so one would think she’d know how to say ” I am completely and utterly taken and not interested in you one bit, so step off…”

Hey Ally, Thank you so much for showing that Bette and Tina are not perfect. Even given the love they share, they can easy make mistakes. Inexperience can be a major issue. Bette really does not know how best to dissuade Jodi from coming on to her. Maybe a minute part of Bette is flattered by Jodi’s attention while the rest of her is shock into inability. Bette does need to get throught this herself but not on her own. She has a loving partner, supportive sister and fabulous friends who are there to fend off all unwanted come-ons. I love the way that Tina manages to push Bette towards the truth without demanding it. She knows in her heart that Bette is consumed by her but needs to see Bette cast off this amorous attention. Let’s see the alpha Bette come out and play with Jodi Puh-lease make it so. Ally, you craft an honest and intense story. The love between Bette and Tina is palpable in every chapter. The rest of the gals are envious but very protective. I really can’t wait to read your next post. Thank you so much. Your Loyal Fan.

Awwww…they’re really talking! I love that to be honest, to see Bette and Tina really talk things out. It is so sweet! As for Alice, don’t know if she’ll ever learn not to taste her toes when her mouth opens, but that’s what makes her Alice. As for the e-mail…glad I made ya laugh! You’ve done that for me on more then one occasion Mate!

Love this story. They are so sweet, earnest, very well meaning, and in love. I think we are seeing a bit of the evolution of Alpha Bette. She needs to learn to be firm in keeping people away from her. I loved how vulnerable she was to Tina though.. I hope she gains some Alpha but doesn’t lose that vulnerable side.
