    Thursday ( 1 day later, and 1 day before State Finals )

     

    Shane woke up at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. There wasn’t school today due to a supposive inservice, but really, everyone knew that they only cancelled today because of the State Finals.

    Shane slowly got up and out of bed and then walked into the kitchen. She saw Papi reading the paper and Jenny was watching T.V. in the living room.

    " Wow Papi, I didn’t think I’d ever find you reading a newspaper. " Shane said

    " Heyy, heyy, heyy, I love this piece of paper, it’s got really important shit on it ! OMG, look, stocks went down 2% ! "

    " Papi, you dumbass, you probably don’t even know what that is ! "

    " Yeah, so what ?! Reading this shit makes me look smarter ! "

    " PFTT, okay, whatever you say pops " Shane chuckled and went to grab a granola bar from the pantry and went to go sit down next to Papi

    " So what time are we leaving today ? " Papi asked while folding her newspaper and setting it down

    " Well … I don’t know, it’s a 5 hour drive to Downingtown so we better leave in a few hours " Shane answered

    " Heyy Jen, when do you want to leave ? " Papi asked Jenny as Jenny went walking into the kitchen

    " Actually I’m going with Carmen, and we’re leaving at 2:00, so you guys are on your own "

    " Oh … Okay … " Shane replied. She didn’t admit it, but she really wanted to go with Carmen, she didn’t want to do this. But really Shane had no choice.

    " We’ll meet up at the hotel though. Well, I mean everyone in like the whole high school is staying in this hotel. " Papi explained

    " Yeah, deffinately, well anyway I have to go pack, I’ll be out soon " Jenny said as she turned around and went walking for her room.

    " This is going to be a LONG week. " Papi said unexcitidly

    " I know, but think about it … this is our chance to secure our scholarship offers; won’t Maryland’s coach be there to scout you ? " Shane asked
