Love In Control – Chapter I – Savannah (Part 1)
She stripped off all her clothes, and tested the water temp with her toes. Mmm… just a little bit hotter than I like it. But that’s ok. The tub was overfilled with fragrant bubbles.
“Cade, you know I was just busting your balls last week because I was frustrated … I am really going to need better help with all of the day-to-day stuff in the foundation. So …are you bringing your superstar chief of staff to the dinner later?”
She eased slowly into the tub and laid the phone gently on top of the dry face towel on the bamboo bathtub caddy that rested over the tub. She positioned the caddy an arm’s length away after she leaned back on one end of the tub.
“I know that it’s hard to find someone as good as she is. And, yes, I know that she does a lot for you … but, please, Cade, I’m asking again that you give me a chance to make a pitch for her.”
She shut her eyes and started to massage her temples. “Can I tell you something, Cade? If I don’t get someone of her caliber to help me, I’ll need to shut things down for a month or so. Doctor’s orders. My heart is absorbing a lot of pressure; Tina is very worried. That gets me more than anything, as you know. The look on her face lately is killing me. I have to change things soon, because if I don’t ….”
“You are a prince for even considering this, you know. … okay … yeah, I got your text earlier about the reservation in the Olde Pink House. I’ll be there. Hope this won’t just be a business dinner with everybody else, Cade. Of course, of course. I’m with you on the climate change agenda, especially now that there’s a global agreement in place, you know that…. alright, I’ll see you later. You can go look for some southern belle to charm now, Mr. GQ. By the way, can you please bring just one to dinner, and not two this time? That group is a conservative one, you know. Just thought I’d remind you, being the good friend that I am.”
They hung up and she was still smiling five minutes later when the facetime app on her phone tingled. Despite being drowsy, given the soothing scents of the bubble bath perfuming the warm air around her, she roused herself and hurriedly dried her hands on the towel behind her and swiped on the screen of the phone.

Loved the start of another story with these characters. Thanks
Wow! I loved it!
This statement of Bette and Tina was at the end
of chapter was pure poetry.
The entire constellation.
No way, you are back!
I am very happy to read your story and i truly love it!
B&T, god , still so much in love.
I am looking forward to the next update!
Where to start Skydancer……..? You’ve taken us on some wonderful journeys, introducing us to your alluring cast of characters. In addition to your version of Bette and Tina (which I absolutely adore), you’ve let us have a front row seat into the lives of Aerin, Harley, Jade, and Rian, each deep, rich characters in their own right. Now you’ve started us on this new, exciting journey with your ensemble cast, that will hopefully end with each in control of their loves and their destinies.
I hope that when Rian finds that switch to her spotty memories, she’s ready for the consequences. Like the saying goes, “Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.”
By the way, my mind is in overdrive with Bette at a golf course resort. Please make Bette, as she is in every other facet of her life, an excellent golfer with a low handicap. The differing sets of tees and handicap system combine to make the game an even playing field no matter the player or the location. In my opinion, there’s nothing sexier than a woman who can conquer a traditional man’s game and put a cocky man in his place. Oh, and tight golf capris won’t hurt either….just sayin’.
I’ll be sure to grab the popcorn and a nice glass of Pinot Noir before reading your next chapter. Anxiously awaiting.
