Love in Control – Chapter VI – Kissing
“So the kids will be in that night camp for how long again?” Bette asked over her shoulder as she slipped her phone into the charging pin of the central console. She selected a playlist in her phone, and tapped on the “shuffle” setting.
Tina handed her a goblet of the red wine that Gavin had sent over. She sipped on her own drink as Bette tasted the wine. “Mmm … this is perfect, T. It’s like he knows what I like.” She winked at Tina. “I like red wine; he likes red wine. I love you; he’s on his way to feeling the same.”
Tina chuckled. “He only likes to flirt, Bette. He seems to enjoy flirting with you, though.” She swallowed her drink and set her glass down. “Dance with me, honey?”
“Of course.” Bette was about set her goblet down also but Tina motioned that she could hang on to it.
Tina snaked her arms around Bette’s neck, who wrapped her arms loosely around Tina’s waist. They swayed from side to side, getting lost in the sultry sounds and low-key electricity flowing between them.
The red light of the sun…slowly descending … the sky is all I see … It’s never ending … We could fly … you and I … on a cloud… kissing, kissing.
She slipped both hands on the brunette’s nape and gently pulled.
“Kissing… kissing,” she hummed the words of the song, just before their lips met. “I love kissing you.”
She gently covered Bette’s lips with her own and heard a soft whimper in response. Of their own accord their lips began to move slowly against each other. The softness, that tenderness, the silky feel of those honey-sweet lips.
The song was a perfect soundtrack to their kiss, and Tina hummed along with the song as the ocean breeze gently blew. She caressed her beloved’s face, running her fingertips slowly over every lovely contour.
The wind plays with the leaves … the weather turns colder … but as long as we believe … love doesn’t get older.
They were in no hurry tonight. Nobody else to think about for the next few hours. She’d booked the kids into the night “adventure” the resort had organized that would keep them occupied. Bette tunneled the fingers of a hand through the silky blonde tresses that smelled of linden, blossom, heliotrope, and roses.

So glad Bette and Tina seem to be back on an even keel. Looking forward to seeing what Bette has in mind. Enjoyed it, thanks
I was relieved to read that Tina’s vacation distraction was well worth the interruption. Though I still question her doing business during family and couple time. Her sense of priorities might be her undoing one day. The scene when B&T are back in their suite after their evening stroll on the beach had me in tears. I was completely undone by the simple line, “…it hurts…” I could feel their mutual pain, regret, and hope at the same time. With Rian’s accident and prolonged recovery, I can see why she and Jade are unsure about the other and why their journey is taking so long. They’ve both been ready for a long time and are just now realizing it. I’m anxious to see how this all unfolds. Now for another glass of pinot.
I agree with you!
