She drove through the heavy rain with tears in her eyes. She couldn’t believe what she saw. Her lover with her ex. She turned on the radio and the sounds of ‘Mr. Brightside’ boomed through the speakers. She whipped in and out of traffic. She honked her horn, yelling out explicit words to drivers. She took a sharp turn, almost hitting an oncoming car. She yelled out and continued to drive. The tears in her eyes and heavy rain were making it hard for her to see. She couldn’t see what was in front of her. A mini-van at a stoplight. She became wide-eyed and slammed on her brakes.

            Her head flew forward and hit the back of her seat. The sound of glass rocketed through her ears. The mini-van moved forward and ran into traffic. She sat there in her wrecked car. In a daze, trying to figure out what happened. She groaned in pain and looked out the shattered windshield. It was a car pile up. She was praying that noone is hurt. She could hear the sirens from far away. The glass shining from the street lights. She sat there waiting for help. She felt the tears continue to fall down her face.

            She couldn’t believe this happened. Every though in her mind came rushing to her at once. The pain steadily going through her body. She couldn’t block out her heavy heart beat. She closed her eyes as the sirens got closer. She waited until someone came to rescue her

            Dana woke up in a cold sweat from her nightmare. She ran her fingers through her moist dark locks and took a deep breath. She wiped her eyes from tears that came down her cheeks. Lara stirred in her sleep and slowly sat up. She looked at a distraught Dana and brought her hand on her shoulder.

“Babe are you okay?”

Dana shook her head. “I don’t know. That dream, I-it felt so real. I feel like something bad has happen.”

Lara wrapped her arms around Dana’s shoulder and held her close. “It was only dream, there’s nothing for you to worry about.”

“Lara, I don’t know. I just have the horrible feeling in my stomach. I think someone is hurt.”
