LOVE IS A LOSING GAME…SHOULD I HAVE PLAYED?
Is it really better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all? Look at the situation with Tina and Bette. I look at my own life and I really have to wonder. Is it true what they say – that you don’t miss what you never had in the first place..
For those who have fallen deeply in love, and then had that love betrayed, stripped away and devalued, does it really seem to be worth the time and the effort?
This is a question for an individual and one that only an individual can answer.
If someone truly loved you – can they just walk away from you? Never have contact with you again? Not even to let you know that they are alive? Or do they play a game where they fuck with your head – one they know that will upset you and leave you wondering? Is it a battle of the wills or is it a form of psychic torture. Someone who loves you ignores you – seems odd to me….does this defeat the entire premise of the idea of love?
Is love something that you can really win at? Is it a game?
For those of you who have experienced this type of loss, please read the lyrics of Amy Winehouse – she’s going to keep getting messed up whether you buy her CD’s or not. She is very talented and I think I relate to her on a very deep level. She suffers. To tell you the truth, I don’t know the answer to my own question. I can relate to her tortured soul.
LOVE IS A LOSING GAME!
For you I was a flame,
Love is a losing game
Five story fire as you came,
Love is losing game
One I wish I never played,
Oh, what a mess we made
And now the final frame,
Love is a losing game
Played out by the band,
Love is a losing hand
More than I could stand,
Love is a losing hand
Self professed profound
Til’ the chips were down
Know you’re a gambling man
Love is a losing hand
Tho’ I battled blind,
Love is a fate resigned
Memories mar my mind,
Love it is a fate resigned
Over futile odds,
And laughed at by the Gods
And now the final frame,
Love is a losing game

i don’t think there’re answers that can help when the heart is broken but still the life goes on and love still is a wonderful thing…
I searched & searched and found this quote: “It is impossible to fall out of love. Love is such a powerful emotion, that once it envelops you it does not depart. True love is eternal. If you think that you were once in love, but fell out of it, then it wasn’t love you were in. There are no ‘exit’ signs in love, there is only an ‘on’ ramp.- Annonymous “Life and love are not a game & yes, you can win — it just isn’t an over night success. Or, something that doesn’t take time & nurturing & caring. All one needs to do is believe — So, just believe Wendy.
Hey, I’m sorry you have to face what seems to be a difficult situation for you. Feel free to PM me if you just need someone to talk to or whatever. Do you have an online journal? Like, Livejournal or something..? Because I think that maybe you’ll be received better there than a fan fic forum. Look on the bright side and keep your chin up x
I can totally relate. Keep your head up!
Unfortunately their is no bright side to being hurt. But, to never have loved would be missins so much. That feeling of adreneline when the person is around, the excitement and anticipation of seeing and being with them. It can hurt like a sonofabitch if it ends or your loose it, but thats the chance we take. I’ve said this before and I truly believe it. The people we choose to be involved with, the paths that we take in life are all lessons, and are leading us to where we were eventually meant to be. The one is out there and trust me you won’t know it if you have nothing to compare it to. Greet each day with a smile, be glad your here, and the rest will take care of its self.
I totally relate
