Love Lost, Love Gained – Part 9

Shane had been stood in the same line for nearly an hour, she had moved forward quite a lot but she was still about 20people from the front when she heard the crowd inside go wild as the music changed beats and tempo. She listened to the music, smiling to herself as she knew without a shadow of a doubt that it was Carmen.

“Oh for god’s sake it’s starting to snow. Let’s get out of here” Shane heard from the group in front of her.
“But we are nearly there now, we have been queuing for an hour”
“We won’t all get in at the same time, come on lets just go to a bar to warm up then decide. We can try back here tomorrow.”
Shane heard a few of the girls moan and start walking off. She could not believe it when one minute she was twenty people from the front and now she was right at the front.

“I don’t blame them. No one is going to come out now. Not with Carmen playing”
Shane smiled, deciding to play dumb. “Is that Carmen playing in there”
The bouncers just looked at her like she was an idiot “Yeah.”
“I’m a friend of Carmen’s from LA, I wanted to surprise her but I guess that’s not going to happen if what you say is right and no one is going to come out”
“What’s your name?” The biggest of the two bouncers asked
“Shane”
“So how do you know Carmen?”
“We used to be room mates, she used to play back at a few places in LA, mostly at this club called The Planet. She sure did bring in the people”
“Yeah she mentioned The Planet when she started working here. I’m Tom and he’s Jake”
“Hi,”
Jake looked her up and down “You do realize you might be stood here a while”
Shane nodded her head. “Yeah, I do”
“Because we aren’t letting you in just because you claim to be ex room mates with the star DJ. Do you know how many people have tried that one since that article came out.”
“Jake leave the lass alone”
Jake just shook his head “It’s like the tenth one we have had tonight. It’s getting old fast.”
“Just ignore him, we kinda get some crazies sometimes.”
“It’s no problem. My friend Kit, her bouncers could tell you a tale or two about crazy people.”
“Your friend own a club?”
“Yeah The Planet where Carmen used to work is run by Kit. It’s a café during the day and then one of the hottest nightclubs in West Hollywood. It’s a good night out”
