    What happened

     

    After you rest well tell you that story.  Guess what, babe?

     

    Wha..

     

    Youve got some of Shanes blood now

     

    A slight smile appeared on Bettes face.  How lucky can a girl get, she thought.


     

     


     

    Everyone got to see Bette for a few minutes.  They all felt better just seeing her and touching her hand.  They needed to make that contact with her – you know, if we touch her hand we know she really is with us and is going to be okay.  

     

    Kit told Tina to stay in the room and she would send the rest of the girls in one by one.  After about fifteen minutes the nurse came over and said they should let Bette rest and it would be fine if they came back tomorrow.  By then Bette will be alert enough to talk.  Probably by Wednesday shell go down to a regular room and hopefully home by the end of the week – if she rests. 

     

    The nurse on duty was really taken with the obvious love these women had for one Ms. Bette Porter.    And the love and devotion written on the face and in the gestures of her partner  – well, there was no right wing radical that was going to tell her that ***** or ***** couples are depraved people and dont deserve to have all the rights that straight people do with the gift of the law sanctioning their partnerships.   Theres as much or more love shown between these two women than shes seen in a lot of the straight couples that shes seen here over the years – Okay, everyone, lets let Bette sleep and Tina, you go home and get some rest, too.  Everyone, go home and get some sleep.

     

    No one wanted to leave, but they knew they had to.   Kit had to open The Planet in the morning so she went to her place and then she would go to the hospital mid-morning before lunch crowd started.  

     

    Tina, Carmen, me, Jenny and Alice and Dana are staying at your place tonight.  Well all camp out in the living room.
