    Bette and Tina finish party preparations.

    Chapter 20

     It was Wednesday and Tina and Bette still needed to iron out the final details for Al’s party.  Rather than meet with Tina when she dropped off Ang, she opted for some place neutral; they were going to meet at the Planet with Kit to finish the arrangements for that Saturday.

     

    Bette and Ang got to the Planet about 20 minutes before Tina, allowing Kit to spend some extra time with her niece.

     

    Bette sat at a table in the back, the lights slightly dimmed for the evening crowd who were just starting to arrive.  She watched as Tina arrived but opted to watch her rather than alert her to her presence right away.  Tina loved black and it looked beautiful on her but there were some other colors that truly brought out her beautiful features – green was one of them.  Tonight she wore a green sundress that accentuated the strong, athletic figure she’d obviously been working hard on, yet accentuated her delicate nature.  Bette had never seen her wear this dress before and the thought of Tina having clothes with which Bette wasn’t intimately familiar brought a quick sting.

     

    Bette noticed as the heads, both men’s and women’s, turned as Tina walked through the restaurant.  When she was stopped by one man, Bette had to catch herself from going to Tina’s aid, and then admonished herself for assuming that she even wanted rescuing.

     

    Bette watched the scene as the very handsome man flirted with Tina.  She was pleasantly surprised to see a frown appear on Tina’s face and the quick brush off she gave the guy.

     

    At this point, Bette waved to Tina and was more than a little chuffed to see the big smile she gave to Bette in sharp contrast to her previous expression – it was particularly poignant when noticed by the man who had just hit on her.

     

    Before she could stop herself she had risen from her seat and pulled out the chair for Tina.  Tina took the opportunity to greet Bette with a kiss that left her tingling and was at a loss as to whether to show offence or just enjoy the feeling it engendered.  She chose the latter and simply sat down opposite Tina.

    8. “You go girl” back to you, Robi!… This is an awesome story. Love Tina’s determination… And gotta say that the little episode about that guy flirting with her and she brushing him off is definitely the kind of thing that Bette needs to witness… This fear of a new heartbreak is so realistic to me that Tina surely needs to secure her on that front… But we’re on the right track here. Jodi doesn’t stand the slightest chance, nor anybody else for that matter… You said it, one tiny word of possible regret from Tina for Bette to get hopeful again… Says a lot! Like that line “You would?” when Tina tells her that she’d take her against the safe boring man, in the show… It’s just a matter of rebuilding that trust, Tina, cause you’ve got the lady already. You always did!… Thanks!

    10. I really liked how in the previous chapter Tina said she didn’t want to get Bette back by default but rather by design. Default could be seen as second choice. LOL@Kit! xD “Only WeHo.” lol

    13. you fooled us with the rating… this is more like a PG-13… not NC-17… so i still have hope that at the party jenny will ask jodie right in front of bette where her date is.. you know the one you were sucking face with at that other club last week… and then have bette walk away from her right into tinas waiting arms… love this… please continue

    14. I agree with Alice, Tina only needs to be herself and show Bette that she has learned from their past and still love her in order to get her back. It’s the little consistant things like sending her special flowers (somethig that Bette previously said that Tina doesn’t normally do–Hint, hint the new and improved Tina), and commenting on her beauty and perfume. It seems that Jodi is to bussy being “High mantanince” to take time to compliment Bette. I mean between her art, screwing around on Bette, and expecting Bette to do little things for her, Jodi doesn’t have the time or inclaination to compliment Bette. Having said that I do think that Jodi will be VERY attentive of Bette during Alice’s party, unless an unexpected guess shows up. GREAT line from Tina “I wouldn’t leave a beautiful woman like you alone in a room full of woman who love women either”. I notice that she didn’t say “My” woman, choosing not to give Jodi ownership of Bette. NICE, VERY NICE. PPS :o).

    16. What a wonderful chapter. Excellent dialogue….realistic and on point. Just love this confident Tina, So much more attractive than whining, subservient Tina. PPASAP. This is a definite reread to savor the flavors.

I just love your writing style it so visual what I mean by that is as I read your story I can actually picture the people and the scene unfolding.Its nice to see Tina taking a lead role for change as this is what I missed from S4 and hope that that we see this in S5 Also thanks for posting the story and so soon after the other chapters.. You made my morning coffee and toast a far enjoyable event today

    27. Go Tina, Go Tina, Go Tina. Love how Kit told Bette that everybody already knew and that the last two were Bette and Jodi. Someone other than Tina and Alice need to let Bette know that Jodi is cheating on her. If not then let Bette start to realize that it is Tina that Bette loves and leaves Jodi and then finds out that Jodi was cheating on her.
