    Lover in the Dark Chapter 1 — “Oh my god Bette this place is fantastic!” Molly placed the box on the living room floor, went over to the window to get a glimpse of the neighborhood and then she sat on the big white couch and let her eyes feasted on the three-bedroom luxury apartment.

    “Oh my god Bette this place is fantastic!”

    Molly placed the box on the living room floor, went over to the window to get a glimpse of the neighborhood and then she sat on the big white couch and let her eyes feasted on the three-bedroom luxury apartment. She had only been Angelica’s nanny for over six months but she knew how Bette had struggled about getting a good paying job that would give her and her daughter a better life. She also knew how Bette had worked so hard in juggling two jobs at the same time just to make ends meet and when the brunette told her that she just got hired as a personal assistant in a top law firm in Houston she was so happy and thrilled for the 28-year old single mother.

    Bette stepped inside the room which she assumed to be the master’s bedroom since its position is facing the beautiful park outside; she put the box that she had been carrying to the side. She only needed to rent a small moving van to bring their belongings good thing she didn’t have to bring the old and worn out furniture from the previous apartment since the new place was fully furnished and all she had to literally pack was their clothes and important documents.

    The room was spacious and elegant with its own bathroom and a huge walk-in closet. The walls were painted with cream and white that it reminded her of a fashionable French apartment in Paris that she used to only see on television or magazines. She then sat on the queen sized bed and let her hand touched the soft fabric of the bed covers, who would have thought that about a year ago she was broke, homeless and miserable after a very ugly divorce battle against her ex-husband Ben Huffman.

    “You know Bette you’re so lucky that law firm is very generous of letting you live in this apartment for free I mean what other company does that?”

    The brunette could hear Molly’s voice from the living room but she decided not to comment. She was a nice girl and Bette knew that the 19-year-old nanny was glad for her and Angie but Molly knew nothing about the agreement that she had signed up for three days ago. Looking now at all the expensive things that surrounded her, the caramel skinned beauty wasn’t feeling the same, no she wasn’t feeling lucky. Despite all the money and luxuries that suddenly had fallen on her lap she couldn’t allow herself to be happy knowing that all of it was because her body didn’t belong to her now but in fact owned by another person… a woman… a woman named Tina Kennard.

      It will be interesting how Bette will cope, but i believe that Tina is a very good woman who will take care of Bette. Offcourse their road will not be easy.

    9. Hey Phacey, the post looked good so you got it figured out. Thanks for continuing this story as well as Give Me a Reason as I love reading them both. Bette feels like she sold out and I hope that with time that feeling will fade but it will be a struggle because of the deal she made. Looking forward to them falling in love and the drama with Randall. Looking forward to your next update on GMAR. Thanks for the time you spend sharing your creativity with us.

    21. Love it, great job! So glad to see you continue this one. Can’t wait to see how Bette fits in as Tina’s assistant and what exactly her duties might be. I hope you don’t rush them into an intimate encounter. Let them get to know each other better and let Tina understand Bette’s reasons for signing the contract. It will be interesting watching them grow from strangers to friends to lovers to soul mates. The sooner Bette and Tina are in love and Randall is history the better, but I don’t expect a high profile politician to go away quietly. Keep up the great writing and hope to see updates on some of my old favorites too!!!
