    Bette and Tina’s first dinner with each other’s friends.

     

     

    Tina got out of the car and waited while Wade put on his jacket before taking his mother’s hand. She never said it, but it was a guilty pleasure to her when her 9-year old son did exactly that, took her by the hand and walked down the street with her. At that age, it takes a lot of courage from most kids to publicly show affection like that.

     

    As they walked down the block to the restaurant, Tina’s mind was racing. She felt her palms get wet, which was the first sign of her anxiety and nervousness. Once again she considered fleeing, but she couldn’t possibly have had the strength to do that.

     

    She let Wade go in first and upon entering the restaurant right after him, with the corner of her eye, she saw Bette spring up from the chair and approach them.

     

    “Hi, Wade!” Bette greeted the boy happily as she bent down to shake his hand and kiss his cheek at the same time.

     

    “Babe,” she said, locking eyes with Tina and planting a sweet kiss on her lips. “Are your friends coming?”

     

    “Umm… Helena said she is going to be late, she’s driving from a different part of the city. And Dana will come in after her 4pm training, so I guess she’ll be here in about an hour and a half.”

     

    “Okay. Good. Are you feeling alright?” Bette asked as she saw how pale Tina was.

     

    “Yeah, I’m fine. Just a bit nervous, I suppose.”

     

    “Don’t be. We’ll have a good time.”

     

    She took both Wade and Tina by their hands and led them both to the table. As they approached it, Tina first spotted a cute little boy who had to be Shay and then two women sitting on his right.

     

    “Tina, Wade… let me introduce Alice, Shane and Shay to you.”

     

    As Bette introduced all of them one by one, Tina relaxed a bit and the muscles on her legs felt less tense.

     

    Shane was a tall and unbelievably thin young woman who, as Tina asserted, looked very andro and probably exactly that attracted a lot of people to her, half of the room – mostly people around her age – had their eyes glued to Shane. Her brother Shay and Wade agreed right away that they’ll go and “play pool” in order to prevent themselves from falling asleep to their adult conversations.

    2. Alice and her mouth, Helena is a piece of full of herself. Hey we are talking about college not preschool. They are both over 21 and love that Wade wants Bette to live with them. thanks

    4. Ack! I clicked the next page link and got blanked… Heck. So! Helena appears to be somewhat immune to Bette’s other-worldly hotness, does she? Alice certainly isn’t immune to Dana. That could be very interesting… Looking forward to the next one, MM, thanks!

    5. I do believe that Alice has found her match. What I ment in my last comments was that for the couple age does not matter the older you get. As far as friends sometimes it is better not to listen to them while other times they are your life line with all hell breaks lose. You have to find the middle ground when it comes to that situation.

    7. I’m loving these snippets of Bette and Tina. Things are definately heating up with Helena (she seems like the Helena of S2). I can only imagine how th rest of the evening will pan out with Helena being a pain and with Dana showing up. PPS.

    10. Yeah, what superdaddy said. I think the opposite applies to us when it comes to who has a bigger issue with age. My ex had no problem with it, hell even someone who was 25 years older than me (we only went out once) had no problem with it. With my ex I didn’t think too much about it until he was getting closer to 40 although that wasn’t the big reason for the break-up. Anyway, how cute is it that Wade wants Bette to live with them?
