    Loving You Forever

    Previously…

Bette looked down at her left hand ring finger and realized her ring was missing. She began to cry again.

“They had to cut the ring from your finger. The doctor said your finger was starting to swell from the IV and it had to be removed.” Tina tried to comfort the brunette.

    “I promised…I…would never…take the ring…off.” Bette cried.

    “Baby…it’s okay.”

“No, it’s not T…it’s not.” Bette’s throat tightened as she remembered the promise she and Tina made to each other. “That was the only thing left I had of you and now it’s gone.”

“Baby…we’ll get another one.” The blonde hated seeing Bette like this.

“It won’t be the same. There’s so much we have to discuss…”

Tina interrupted Bette. “We’ll talk, but right now your main focus is to get better. That’s all I want you to do and I’m here to help you.”

    Chapter 9

    One Month Later

Tina entered the loft and quietly closed the door. She placed the bags of groceries on the kitchen table and found Bette asleep on the chair and a half with her leg resting on the large ottoman. She made her way to the brunette and covered her with the throw which had fallen on top of the crutches on the floor. She looked down at Bette who was slowly recovering from her injuries. The bags and dark circles underneath her eyes had started to disappear once she was able to get the sleep she needed. It was determined that her pain meds, instead of helping her sleep, was actually keeping her up. Once it was adjusted, she was fine. Tina’s chest tightened with the emotions she was feeling. She loved…loves this woman sleeping comfortable in the chair. She didn’t know what she would have done had Bette not survived being hit by a cab. She had prayed to every god and deity for Bette’s recovery and forgiveness.
