Bette cheerfully hummed along to the music, tapping her leather-clad finger on the steering wheel. She glanced down at the clear directions she had been given to the property. When they had discussed their fantasy a few weeks previous Bette had instantly thought of this exclusive little getaway. A long-term friend who owned the property had often offered the place to Bette as a weekend retreat knowing that they enjoyed a similar ‘lifestyle’ – though this would be Bette’s first visit.

It was a beautiful property on the outskirts of a popular, yet remote village, set on the edge of a crystal clear lake. The owner had been delighted to discover the property offered everything she and her partner could have wanted when they needed to get away from the city. It offered seclusion, anonymity and what finally sold it to them was the discovery of the perfectly sized attic hidden away on the top floor…how delightfully convenient.

Pleased that Bette had finally taken her up on the offer she had made sure her contact in the village had cleaned and sufficiently prepared the property in time for Bette and her partner’s arrival. Even a delivery of fresh food had been delivered that morning from the local store. Bette was pulled from these thoughts when a foot kicked the back of her headrest. “What the fu…”

Tina had figured there wasn’t much she could do (being blindfolded and cuffed horizontally to the back seat) other than perhaps attempt to annoy Bette, knowing that the brunette was rather precious over her beautiful car. She mischievously leant her feet up against the window, a jut in the road causing her foot to tap Bette’s headrest, “ooops” she quietly muttered.

“You have exactly 2 seconds to remove your feet from my window.” Bette states calmly.

Tina was feeling particularly boisterous, even under such circumstances.

“1… 2” Bette begins.

Tina just grins to herself, until she feels the breaks, and lurches forward on the back seat. “They’re down, they’re down, look!” but it was too late.

Bette had already climbed out of the car, opened the boot, opened the door and had her arms under Tina’s, pulling her up and head first out of the car. Bette could do this confidently in the knowledge that they were now on a private stretch of road. From now until Sunday the only person Tina would be seeing was Bette.
