    Alice tells Dana something something important, Bette communicates with Tina — non-verbally, Shane tries to show Carmen how much she loves her, and Helena and Lara finally talk to the children about Winnie. (Oh, and Beth Kenyon charms the nation!)

    Time moves excruciatingly slowly when things are not going well. Yet life will on. Since the tabloids hit the stands at midnight on Monday morning, the minutes had crawled by, filled with endless phone calls, strategy meetings and worry. Alice was hurt, Dana was angry and Helena was suspicious. This all had the rather oily stench of Gail Guthrie all over it. Winnie was the only one who had benefited in any way by the whole tabloid mess. Helena’s detectives were already busily tracing where Winnie had stashed the missing money that they had finally reported. On a hunch, Helena had directed them to try to find a link between the money, Winnie and Gail as fast as possible.

    Right now, though, everyone was concerned for the person who stood to lose the most from this manufactured scandal. If things were not properly handled, Beth Kenyon would probably lose her career. The plan that she’d had in place for years was largely the work of Gail Guthrie. Instead of implementing it, Beth knew she had to shake things up, so she hunkered down for a few days with Allan Weidler and Grant Morgan. The public relations whiz kids had already beaten Gail at her game once. They re-imagined the plan entirely…embracing Alice and Dana as part of it.

    Dana, Helena and Beth’s attorneys all counseled both Al and Dane to file separate suits against each tabloid that published the photos and false stories about them, the fall, the so-called love triangle and Alice’s alleged relationship with Beth. Fortunately ESPN was not backing away. They expected to finalize the contract and make the announcement before the week was over. Despite this, Dana and Alice worried that the executives would change their mind as a direct result of the trash in the rags, so they had their attorneys prepare two sets of complaints, one if ESPN withdrew the offer and one if they did not. Either way, they would be ready to file should they decide to.

    In the meantime, they continued their house search, touring many of the places they’d seen on Sunday, and prepped for Dana’s next motivational speech. Alice was even close to completing a column style article for Los Angeles Magazine about her experiences in communicating without speaking, something she pitched via email the day before she was released from the hospital. Both KCRW and the magazine agreed to let her record it and simply program music for the rest of her next show. She wouldn’t be in studio to take calls but would answer emails from home and a local celebrity would read them on air for her. All in all, it was a brilliant solution and it had been hers entirely.

    3. This world Sammy…this world, so many fucked up things in this world. This year has brought about so much for me so many disappointments but the biggest of all is not seeing you or brteyes with a fan fic award. I feel personally cheated, like nothing will ever be right in life again…and granted that speech was dramatic and you’ve heard my rantings but I think everyone who reads these comments should see this Sammy deserves a fan fic this chapter was more proof that you get better with each chapter (if that’s even possible) I love that each story has its on individual arch and everything is so true to life I can’t wait for the next chapter babe I’ll be waiting patiently…well I’ll be waiting anyway.
