    Bette says good bye to her “old life” and starts over with a clean slate.

    Bette was on the floor of her living, leaning against the wall, wine glass in hand.  She had been sitting there for about an hour just thinking.  “I want, I want, I want.”  That’s how the beginning of the end had started.  She had come home from her retreat determined to get her life back.  But which life did she want?  The life where she was in a loving relationship with her life partner?  Nope, that was gone forever.  She had made sure of that with her dalliance with the carpenter.  How about the life where she lived as a shadow of herself, repenting for her sins by allowing Tina to walk all over her?  The relationship was abusive, something she never expected but non the less had to accept.  Tina wasn’t physically abusive but she certainly was emotionally and Bette had had enough.  As much as she loved Angelica she could no longer stay and take Tina’s abuse.  Once again she fought to not carry the blame for this as well.  Tina had become a cold-hearted bitch and Bette couldn’t help but think it was once again because of the affair.  It had ripped Tina’s heart and soul apart and what Tina had cobbled back together was nothing close to the woman that was once the love of Bette’s life. 

     

    She had come back to find Tina in bed with Henry.  Something snapped within her that day and she new what life she wanted; a new one, created solely for her, stripped down and simple.  That’s what she wanted.  She and Tina had fought about Angelica and in the end Bette had done what any mother would do for their child, what she thought was best for Angelica; she had let her go.  If Tina wanted a different life there was no use fighting her and putting Angelica in the middle of it.  She would not play tug of war with her, the baby she thought of as hers, the true love of her life.  With Angelica Bette had finally experienced unconditional love.  It had been a two way street from the moment she held her in the delivery room to the time she kissed her goodbye and handed her to Tina.  That day 3 months ago was when Bette had hit rock bottom and knew she could only move forward.  She had done that and tonight was her final good bye.  Her friends had spent the weekend helping her pack the house up and all that was left were the pictures.  It would be one final walk down memory lane for her and then she would walk out of the house and close the door on that part of her life forever.

    28. I’m just glad you are back in the fold. I’ll worry over where Tina is at a later date. There is a Tina isn’t there?Not the insensitive, mean Tina we see on Sunday nights, but the sweet and loving Tina still lodged in many of our hearts. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    36. I like it and at the same time I can’t believe Bette could ever walk away from Angelica. but I am willing to follow your story because you write so damn well.
