Our antics on the plane had got me really excited; I loved the thrill of sneaking off to the bathroom, although I could see that Dana had not enjoyed it so much- well, being found out, not what we had done in the cubicle. Thankfully, she had relaxed by the time we got off the plane in London. I was ready to have a lot more fun and was planning for Dana to have the time of her life too.

We were driven from the airport to the hotel in a chauffeur-driven BMW. We were being treated to such luxury it was quite overwhelming, it was often easy to forget that my girlfriend is a big tennis star and I think Dana finds it pretty overwhelming and unbelievable herself most of the time, especially at times like this.

Despite being summer, it was raining quite hard. So it’s true that Britain really does have crappy weather, I just hoped that it wouldn’t last. We were staying in the hotel where the majority of the Wimbledon competitors were staying, this meant that there were photographers hanging around outside and as soon as Dana stepped out of the car the press were shouting her name and desperately crowding around to get a photo. Their eagerness to take a picture of my girlfriend blew me away, to me she was just normal goofy and loveable Dana, and to them she was a huge celebrity.

Dana came out in her Subaru ad last year, so she did not have to worry about being seen with me. She took my hand and we pushed through the crowds together. I felt incredibly proud to be with Dana, but very self-conscious at the same time. I could tell that Dana was also feeling nervous and shy, her head faced the ground and she led me through the press and she said nothing to anyone. We were both very anxious to get inside, into the privacy of our room.

Finally, we were free from the swarms of paparazzi and a few minutes later Dana was desperately unlocking the door to our suite. We stepped in and took a look around and I was speechless, I had never been in such a luxurious and fancy hotel room. It was huge, with a massive double-bed as the main focus of the room, as well as a huge widescreen TV and many other expensive items.
