    Lara and Dana talk. Dana plucks up the courage to follow her heart.

     

    Dana

     

    Lara came around to my condo the next morning. She sat on the sofa, sitting up straight with her hands on her lap like a polite guest, and I sat on the armchair next to the couch. We said nothing to each other for a few minutes until Lara came out with it, her confession as to what had been bothering her.

     

    “It’s Alice, Dana. Everything is about Alice. You talk about her constantly and I feel like when I’m with you you’re not really with me because you’re always thinking about something else, or someone else. She’s like the third person in our relationship, she’s always there” I couldn’t understand what she was saying, was it really that obvious?

     

    “Look Lara, if you can’t accept my friendship with Alice then you and I….” I got cut off before I could say ‘have a problem’.

     

    “It’s not just a friendship though is it Dana? It’s more to you, I can see that, you can see that, the only person who can’t see that is Alice” Lara raised her voice slightly and paused. She sighed and her body seemed to relax a bit and she looked me directly the in the eye. “Answer me one question Dana. Are you in love with her?” I knew then that I could not lie to her, she looked too upset and I couldn’t hurt her anymore. So I came clean.

     

    “Yes” I couldn’t look at her when I said it.

     

    “Then you and I can’t be together. Do something about it Dana” Lara got up and walked out of my front door, leaving me sitting alone in my living room, totally unsure of what to do next.

     

     

     

    Alice

    For the two weeks following our film night I saw Dana often, but this time I was genuinely buried in work, so I didn’t get to talk to her a lot. Most mornings, I just had time to pop into the Planet, grab a coffee and say a quick hello to everyone before returning home to continue my articles. I was under a lot of pressure from my boss to reach the deadlines.

    1. Yay! I’m glad that Dana didn;t deny her feelings when Lara asked, and that Lara was the one who ended up leaving. I thought that was a lot better than what was actually shown with Lard, seemed like they tiptoed around each other more often than not. I’m glad Dana had the guts to kiss Alice, and I’m even more glad that Alice kissed back. I heart this story immensely so you’d better keep writing!

It’s good to see Dana being the one to take first step instead of Alice, i can’t wait to see where they go from here will it be one big fairytale for them or will they go into hiding? update SOON and end the suspense lol :P
