Two days later, Dana and I were sitting at Dana’s candlelit dining table enjoying a delicious meal, cooked by Dana of course. Soft music was playing quietly in the background and we were eating in a comfortable silence. We had had such a brilliant couple of days together. We had slept in late, lazed around the apartment watching movies and had been out shopping. We had not yet spent any time apart because we were simply enjoying each other’s company too much to part.  However, something had been playing on my mind and I decided that it was time to tell Dana my thoughts.

“Do think we should tell our friends now or later?” I hadn’t yet decided what my opinion was, I wanted to share with the world how happy I am in my new relationship and how things were finally going my way, yet I didn’t want to jinx it by telling people so soon for fear of it not working out.

Dana looked up from her plate and swallowed her mouthful. “I’ve been thinking that too. I think we should just tell them Al, I mean things are going so well we might as well tell them because they will probably be pretty suspicious anyway.”

It was true that our friends would probably be able to tell as soon as they saw us, especially Shane who has a freaky talent at spotting even the most unobvious things, and if they didn’t it would be most likely become pretty obvious straight away as we couldn’t keep our hands off each other for longer than ten minutes.

I grinned across the table at Dane. “You’re right. So should we tell them at the Planet tomorrow morning?”

“Yeah okay. They’ll be happy for us right?” Dana looked a little worried. I reached over and took hold of her hand.

“Of course they will, we’re happy together so they will be happy for us too”

Alice had brought up the subject of telling our friends just as I was about to. I had been thinking about it hard and had come to the conclusion that our friends may as well know, there was no big secret to be kept and I wasn’t sure that I could keep how happy I am from them.
