Momma Bumble Bee
Bette opened the door after looking through the peephole to make sure it was Tina since her friends had a habit of just dropping by without notice. Although she always welcomed the company she didn’t want any interruptions this evening.
Angie greeted her mother with the same enthusiasm she’d shown Bette earlier when Kit and Roger had brought her home anxious to tell her all about the fun she had at Disney. Although Tina and Henry had taken Angie and Mikey to the amusement park when she was three Angie appreciated it more now that she was past the toddler stage and able to enjoy the bigger rides, games and activities.
Tina picked up the lanky child and Angie wrapped her legs around Tina’s middle. Hugging her daughter she kissed her cheek as she carefully stepped over the threshold but hadn’t fully cleared the doorway.
“Hey sweet pea” Tina used the term endearingly.
“Mommy you missed it. I had my face painted and Uncle Roger bought me Minnie Mouse ears and a T-shirt and I rode the Teacup and the Astroblaster and …”
“Sweetie slow down. You can tell me all about your trip to Disney in a minute. Let’s get inside so Momma B can close the door; we’re letting the bugs in.”
Angie looked at Bette from her perch on Tina’s hip. She grinned shyly no longer anxious about Tina being there now that she was assured it wasn’t to take her home early.
“Sorry Momma B.”
“That’s okay Boo. I know you are excited to see your Mommy.” Tina stepped in and Bette closed the door behind them. She turned to face her ex.
“Thanks for coming Tina.”
“Thanks for having me.”
“You can set your purse on the occasional table in the foyer if you like. Dinner’s ready so we can go right into the dining room.”
“Actually would you mind if I use the bathroom first. I’d just like to wash my hands.”
“Sure. It’s right down the hall.”
“I’ll show you Mommy.”
Tina put Angie down and placed her bag and keys on the table in the foyer next to Bette’s. She took her daughter’s hand and was led to the guest bathroom. Bette smiled at the sight of Angie pulling her mother and starting up the chatter once again. She was a gregarious little girl by nature and not even the illness had put a damper on that aspect of her personality.

That was going really well. Angie is one cute and smart little girl.
I can understand Tina, but Bette was not the only one in fault. A relationship takes two to make it work or break.
It is not your intent to bring them together back, but i hope you will. In my mind they belong together.
Thanks for the update.
I understand she has other priorities at the moment, but Bette just should fall in love ASAP. She isn’t dead inside, is she? lol
I am not hostile towards Tina. I really want even if they can find forgiveness in their hearts to each other, and they were able to become friends again. (I’d like it even more if they could find their way back to each other, but I know that you don’t plan on this story)
I do understand that Tina lost confidence towards Bette, and very difficult to open up to her again. I think that this situation is much worse than they hate each other, too much oppressed feelings especially part of Tina. I think she would be necessary properly solved this.
I look forward to the sequel
I know your intent is not to write a TiBette story but I so wish it was ! Perhaps you’ll reconsider?
I feel sorry for Tina, she needs to let it go. She will be happier. Right now she is setting herself to very jealous of the new baby.
Tremendous writing as always….really like the concept of this story!
Thanks! I love this story! Its sad also but I think time will heal them. Maybe they will become best friends again one day if nothing else. Boo is always sweet in stories. PPS
Another great chapter I know your trying to make tina more likeable but she is still coming across like poor me bette cheated bette took angie bette has family bette has friends bette went to jail and now is getting on with her life and she is still coming across as bitter so im sorry but no I do not like your version of her she needs to pull the stick out of her ass ok im finished with my rant pps
Im not keen on this not being a Tibette story, but its perfect this way too and very sad. So much history and love destroyed over lack of communication basically smh and Angie just makes things so much brighter and happy in this story and shes funny as always.
I respect the story for your vision, but remember the thing that makes Bette and Tina,… Bette and Tina,… is the fact that no matter what they always find their way back to each other love prevail no matter what, even though Fanfic lol!
very thoughout story but with all the original plot in it Awesome!!!!
I love your story. Maybe Bette will be able to teach Tina to understand that, life does go on even when your life as you thought it was, is no longer. They both have suffered and have lost so much. I am also in favor of a reunion between these two. PPD
Very good chapter! But Tina is still putting the blame on Bette and not ownng up to her part of the break up. Tina put the distance between Alice and Shane not Bette.
I hope you give Bette a new love interest.
Thank you PPS
