    Chapter 20


    When Bette and Tina started to kiss, they didnt realize how hard it would be to stop. It was as if their lips had suddenly become polar magnets, desperate to connect. Every sentence, every word, every other syllable would be followed by a quick kiss, as if it was needed for proper communication; as if they wouldnt understand what the other was saying without a kiss in between. Bette loved every second of it. Tina did too. The holding, hugging, kissing, everything

    But, as with all good things, it had to come to an end.

    It was getting late, Samantha would be home any second, and Tina didnt think she would be able to hide her emotions from her sister, since they were so fresh and overwhelming at the moment. Samantha would surely figure it all out as soon as she saw the way Tina and Bette looked at each other.

    Thats why Bette had to go.

    Amazingly, Tina was able to gather Bettes jacket and bag with her lips still connected to the brunette, and managed to get them both to the front door without knocking anything over. When Bettes back hit the front door, Tina kissed her hard for a while and then finally pulled herself away. You have to go. She panted between short kisses.

    I know. Bette responded, holding Tinas waist with one hand as she grazed her fingers along Tinas lips with the other. Kissing Tina again, her face scrunched in pain. I dont want to.

    I dont want you to either. Tina whispered breathlessly, caressing Bettes face. But you have to. Tina turned the doorknob and began to open the door, but Bette slammed her back against it, making it close.

    Wait a minute. Bette barely muffled before attacking Tinas mouth again.

    BetteBeBette Tina kept trying to say, laughing a little. She finally pulled away, completely breathless. You have to go.

    Pouting, Bette sighed. Fine, but Im going under protest.

    Ill make it up to you.

    Im holding you to that. Bette kissed Tina one more time before letting her open the door. She grabbed Tinas hand and squeezed it tight before finally leaving. Ill call you later.

    Okay. Tina leaned against the door, biting her lip as she watched Bette leave. Suddenly, a deep, nagging pain settled in her chest. I want her to come back. Tina did her best to ignore the pain as she closed the door and went to her bedroom. Dana definitely had to know about this.

    4. I swear I’m like a little kid at Christmas when you give us a new chapter of this story. So Friday night is dinner with Daddy Dearest. It’s such a shame that Melvin will probably not like Tina after finding out that she and Bette are together. I REALLY lucked out in that my parents are cool with me being gay. Granted I haven’t brough anyone home to meet my parents as if there are so many women here to date. *rolls eyes* And Saturday is the party. I wonder if Alice and Dana will get it on? lol Honestly, I’d rather B&T not go there that soon, especially at a party. Yes, I’m a hopeless (hopeful?) romantic. =p Can’t wait for the next chapter!

Hey, why don’t you let him have a harmless accident and get him to hospital where he can meet Amy Kennard and fall in love with her?     12. Manda, That was perfect. I loved the way that you counterbalance the realization of depth of Bette and Tina’s love for each other with the humor of their best friends interfering and their knowledge that they need to hide their feelings from their families. Tina’s mom and sister will be fine after the initial shoch wears off as they have been through soon much as a family unit. Yes, there may be surprise but their relationship will survive and strengthen once the full truth is known. As for Bette’s father, fabulous way to introduce the ‘Miss Kenard’ acknowledgement. I think he will continue to ignore this part of Bette’s life and allow this partnership to flourish. The main fly in the ointment may be the deceit involved in keeping the union secret. Yip, Friday and Saturday are going to be very interesting so al alway will be here awaiting your next exciting and entertaining installment. Thank you, Your Loyal Fan.
