Morning Doings (A ‘Time of Day’ Interlude)
“She’s not even going to notice.”
“She notices everything.”
“Not everything, Bette.”
“Everything. The other day she asked if yellow lights mean speed up.”
“Bette?”
“It’s Alice’s driving, really.”
“Bette.”
“Shane’s, maybe. Not mine.”
“Uh huh.”
“She’s advanced, you know, knowing her colors so well.”
“Nice try.”
“It’s better than what she asked me the other day.”
“Do I want to know, Bette?”
“She asked me why you were sleeping naked.”
“You’re just saying that.”
“Actually, there was more involved with that question, because, as I recall her description, it had something to do with no blankies and naked breasts.”
“What did you tell her?”
“I told her you were hot.”
“You did not.”
“I think you’re hot.”
“I think I’m mortified. And I think I’m going to start locking the door.”
“You’re not.”
“I am if she keeps getting up at any time and coming into our room.”
“Keeps?”
“Bette. Remember the last time, when she tried? Although you probably don’t, since you were under the covers at the time.”
“Right, when you said she asked where I was, just before you tried to strangle me.”
“I told her hiding, and I thought it would be easier to explain if you just stopped moving, or, at the least, doing what you were doing so that I could think.”
Bette smirked.
“It’s not funny.”
“It’s a little funny.”
“It was a little funny, until she told Alice that she had relayed this information to her pre-school teacher.”
“You didn’t tell me that part.”
“Fortunately, since it wasn’t a class announcement, it just stayed between the two of them. I think Alice is saving that bit of info until she needs something from one of us.”
“We’re locking the door next time.”
“Thanks, Bette.”
From the other room came a wailing sound.
“She’s up.”
The wailing grew louder, approaching the room where the two women sat in bed.
Angelica, dragging a large, colorful basket, burst into the room. She plopped the basket onto the bed, and scrambled up after it.
Walking across the covers, she sat straddling Bette’s outstretched legs and pulled an item out of the basket. “Lookit!”
“It’s a bunny, Boo.”
“It gots no ears.” Angelica protested. Then she pointed at Tina, the girl’s small face screwed into a look of indignation. “Mommy did it.”
Bette looked at her partner and raised an eyebrow. “She noticed.”

too fu*kin cute..kids are soo much fun during holidays..very adorable.
So these two chocolate Easter bunnies are talking. One has had it’s tail nibbled off, the other is is lacking ears. The first one says to the other one, “My ass hurts.” The second one says “What?”. (Thanks albeez, but somebody sent me that one last year, too.) How could Tina think she was actually going to get away with that? I say bunnies for everybody.
Oh man I had to read this twice to get it. xD I am so slow right now (no comments from the peanut gallery =p). Too cute!
Hilarious! I’m with nancy720packers. It’s cute indeed. PPS. Thanks for the pleasure of writing this. You made my day.
This is extremely cute, thanks for sharing. Some years back the folks at Nabisco wanted to improve Oreos ie. fewer broken cookies is improvement, right? Well they fixed the problem and were flooded with complaints from Moms. It seems that Moms are allowed to eat the broken cookies as they load the cookie jar, so to take away the broken one denied Moms around the country. What a mother will do for her chocolate!
I love it!!!!
very cute! I love these mundane things; they warm my heart! Great chappy. PPS.
Damn cute..this would certainly be a great morning to look forward to…lovely.
happy easter LOL…so cute…and LOL@funnyone joke
To cute. I.m guilty of that also. but not both ears, with 4 boys a little bit off of each ear.
I don’t know if you will read this because you have posted again but this was hilariously funny. Angelica asking why mommy was naked and then why naked breast were showing, had me rolling in my seat. Maybe we should send Bette and Tina their own chocolate bunnies and then get a new one for Angelica.
That was funny!
Charming and delightful. And the world could use more of that. PPS.
Divine! Angie’s just adorable… Lovely post, pseud. Thanks!
