Chapter 28

The next morning Tina was the first to wake up from her slumber, the huge smile that she had drifted off with the night before, taking permanent residence on her face.

She had slept quite awkwardly, with her head snuggled into Bettes shoulder and had woken up once during the night with a niggling pain in her neck. She was so content just to feel Bettes body next to hers she didnt really realize how much her desire to remain in the same position would result in an incredibly stiff and sore back and neck that following morning

The moment Tina woke, she looked over at her wife and her son, who were still peacefully sleeping right next to her. A truly amazed and thankful look appearing on her face at a thought, that only one week ago that outcome wasnt even in her realm of possibility and now it was seemingly reality!!!!

Tina wanted to just lay there and drink in the sight of her family, the family that she had wantedthat Bette and her had wanted, for so long, but she couldnt; she had to move; she felt a dull stabbing pain at the top of her spine, that was getting progressively worse the longer she stayed still.

Tina tried to wiggle her way out of Bettes tender embrace without disturbing her; but the sudden movement caused Bette to immediately awaken.

Bette: (groggily, confused) Are you ok Tee?

Tina: (contented) Yeah. I just have a sore neck. I slept awkwardly, dont worry go back to sleep babe.

Bette slowly opened her eyes peering at Tina. She was now awake, concerned for her Tee, pulling Tina gently back down into her warm inviting arms, (looking intently into Tinas eyes) Hey you(smiling) Good Morning Tee.. Do you know how amazing it is for me to see you first thing in the morning?. To be able to say good morning to you? leaning in planting a gentle kiss on Tinas inviting lips.

Tinas pain was momentarily forgotten, her eyes becoming lost in Bettes gaze, as she surrendered to Bettes embrace revelling in the feel of their bodies so close together, MmmmGood morning Me too baby. an ever so slight grimace appearing on her face.

Bette saw the grimace and remember what Tina had said about her sore back.

Bette: (an innocent smile played across Bettes lips as she got an idea) Lay down on the floor and Ill fix up that neck for youyou know how good I am with my hands, Tee winking playfully at Tina.

A vision of Bettes skilful hands entered Tinas mind and she became flushed with desire. Pushing that thought to the deep dark confines of her brain, for now anyway, Tina managed to momentarily think about something else, What about Jack, Bette. wont he be awake soon?

Bette looked over at her peacefully sleeping son, Jack is still sound asleep baby. What time is it??

Tina: (glancing at her watch) Umits about 7am.

Bette: (quietly) ***** still be asleep for another hour or so. our son usually sleeps till about 8am and he did drift off later than usual last night.

Tina immediately realized the reference Bette made to OUR SON and a beaming smile graced her lips. Bette got up from the couch, bringing Tina up with her. She grabbed the picnic blanket, laying it smoothly on the lounge room floor, whilst Tina looked on in anticipation.

Looking back at Tina, Bette asked, Teecould you lie on your tummy baby. Ill make your neck all better. wiggling her fingers jokingly.

Tina: (grinning) OkI can do that! Tina did as she was asked and slowly lowered her body till she was lying flat on her stomach, on the blanket.

Bette kneeled down, throwing one of her legs over Tinas back, hesitantly sittingguiding her weight, onto the base of Tinas back, her legs kneeing either side of Tina.

Bette: (concerned) Is this ok Tee. Im not too heavy am I?

Tina was too busy concentrating to respond to the question. As soon as she felt Bettes body make contact with her own, feeling Bettes weight on her back, realizing Bettes legs were splayed either side of her, and the fact that her body, the most intimate part of Bette, was only a few layers of clothing away from her wanton touch.. In that moment, Tina could see, she could feel, overwhelming trust emitting from Bette and knew she would do as she saidtake care of her. Tina sat up, lifting her arms above her head, prompting Bette to gently strip off her t-shirt. The two women didnt break their gaze the whole time. Bette gently threw Tinas t-shirt across the room, exposing her upper body; all of it, except the intimate area where Tinas light blue lace bra concealed

Bette eyes wandered subtly, lovingly, appreciatively, up and down Tinas newly exposed bare skin; noticing that Tinas body was still as beautiful and enticing as ever.

Shaking her head to snap out of her erotic thoughts and return to the task at hand, Bette didnt know how on earth she was going to accomplish this task when all she wanted to do was ravage Tina, reacquaint herself with every inch of Tinas incredibly ***** body, right there and then. but she was going to try. Bette: (smiling to herself in understanding) Good morning kiddodid you sleep well?

Both women laughed at the oblivious look on Jacks face. Jacks eyes were glued to the T.V. and he was grinning profusely; he was always a happy little man in the morning, I is hungry mommy!

Bete looked at Tina and smiled, a genuine smile that was so bright it lit up the whole room, Ok lets get you some food then sweetie

Even though Tina wanted Bette with every single fibre of her being, she was kind of glad they had been interrupted, she didnt really want their first time back togethertheir first time reconnecting with each other, to be on Shanes lounge room floorwith their son only 5 feet away.

Bette gave Tina a quick, loving kiss, extracting her body from Tinas, taking a brief moment to look into her eyes, which still possessed a hint of desire. She leaned in and whispered in Tinas ear, To be continued Teesoon I hope! winking cheekily at Tina. Tina just smiled, her imagination running away with her.

Hastily re-buttoning her shirt, Bette jumped up off the floor, scooped up their little boy and carried him into Shanes kitchen to fix him something edible for breakfast.

Bette rummaged through the pantry and found some porridge, boiling it up for Jack, and whipped up some toast and juice for her and Tina.

Tina joined Bette and Jack a few minutes later, after redressing and recomposing herself. She stood in the doorway of the kitchen for a few minutes, observing Bette and their son go about the mundane task of fixing breakfast. She stood there in awe, the realization sinking in that that was her family right therethat was her life, right in front of her.

A warm, loving smile spread across Tinas lips as she walked over; wrapping her arms around Bettes waist. Tina rested her head on Bettes shoulder, taking a deep breath; breathing in the amazing scent that was her Bette, a simple pleasure she would never take for granted again.

Bette relaxed back into Tina, linking their fingers together loving the feeling of Tinas arms around her, she was never going to let go of her Tee again

Bette: Hey Tee. You ok?

Tina: (looking at Bette then over at Jack, whispering for Bettes ears only) BetteIm much more than just ok!!

Shane walked through her front door just after 8am, to ready herself for work. She had borrowed Tonis key to grant her access to her apartment, unsure of what was awaiting her at home. Shane walked into the kitchen, hearing voices and what she saw bought a tear to her eye.

Bette and Tina were sitting at the kitchen table, their backs to the door, one hand holding each other while the other one was eating, watching their son devour his food. Seeing her friends as a family, together and happy..how she believed they were always intended to be, was inspiring to Shane

Shane: Well its about bloody time the remark coming out a little louder than she intended, prompting Bette and Tina to turn around to see where the voice came from

Both women spoke in unison, Hey Shane. looking at each other grinning.

Shane: (a knowing smile gracing her lips) Hey guys.so whats going on here then?

Bette smiled at Tina giving her hand a squeeze, Not much ShaneThanks for the lend of your key! pulling it out of her pocket, throwing it the short distance back to Shane.

Shane walked over and greeted Jack giving him a soft kiss on the forehead, Hey there kiddohows my favourite little man this morning?

Jack didnt answer, he was too busy eating, looking up at his Aunty Shane he just smiled adoringly. Every time Jack did that it melted Shanes heart.

Shane: (a tear in her eye) Ok thenGuys, I need to get ready for work. stay as long as you like, ok!!

Shane walked over and placed her hands on Bette and Tinas shoulders, Im really happy for you two. For you three! looking over at Jack.

Bette placed her free hand on top of Shanes, Thank you Shanefor everything!

Shane: No worriesok, Im going to get ready before Im late!

Tina, Bette and Jack finish up breakfast. The first breakfast they had shared as a family

They cleaned up and returned to the lounge room, spending the next few hours laughing and playing with their son, together.

Before they had even realized it had approached noon and Jack fell asleep for his nap, worn out by his two over enthusiastic mommies. Bette put him in his little bed he slept in, when he stayed at Shanes and went over joining Tina on the couch.

She wrapped her arms tightly around Tina, looking at her lovingly but hesitantly, Okso what do we do now Tee?

Tina saw the unsure look on Bettes face and wanted to erase it, I think we need to talkto just sort everything out baby!.Then WE can do what ever WE want!! winking at Bette.

Both women couldnt help looking lovingly at each other, thinking, with a hint of regret; everything between them was just right, right now, but they both knew what was coming next the hard questionsthe hard answers, but were they both ready for them.

Everything needed to be sorted out for them to have the chance at their happily ever after. Did that even exist, or was it simply only a phrase used in fairytalesLife was never that simple. They couldnt be that lucky could they?
