    My Captor -Ch8

Shane’s eyes couldn’t focus. She reached out for Carmen, but grasped only air. The doctors rolled Shane into the sanitized room where the lights beamed down on her. The other bodyguards had to wrestle Carmen out of the room. Her arms waving madly. She saw them tear open the clothes she had prepared for Shane. They put an oxygen mask over her mouth. The heart monitor they had attached to her beeped slower as Shane’s heart gradually failed. The ominous beep shattered Carmen’s world. She watched through the window as they shocked Shane. They tried to get her heart to work again and again. Carmen pounded on the windows helplessly. Her tears streaming down her cheek. Shane felt light. She felt herself floating above her body on the table. She got up and walked out of the room. She walked through Carmen. She was crying. Shane walked towards the door. She was just about to reach for the handle when she felt a tug on her shirt. A boy was there. The same dark hair and emerald eyes stared up at her. Shay.

    Shane: Hey little man.

Shay gave her a big hug.

Shay: You can’t go there yet. You’re not done here.

    Shane: What do you mean?

Shay: Can you leave her like that?

    He motioned to Carmen weeping.

Shane: But aren’t you lonely too?

    Shay shook his head no.

Shay: I’ll be fine. I can wait for you. You’ve done a lot for me already. You have to go find your own happiness too.

Shane felt herself being dragged back into the operating room. The heart monitored beep normally. The doctors got along with removing the two bullets. Carmen turned around to her father.

Carmen: Where did you take her?!

Cezar: Honey, I needed to do some business.

Carmen: Next time you do business, don’t take her! Your business always takes away the people I care about!

Cezar never knew her daughter felt that way.

Cezar: Carmen, your mother. That was an accident.

Carmen: Stop lying to me! Get out! Shane’s in there because she blocked those for you! Those were meant for you! I was supposed to be with her tonight having a good time! But you had to take her away! Do you have to take everything away?! I hope you would just disappear. Get out. Get out!

    1. Shane’s okay! Woo hoo! Shay is an angel. I’m so glad he talked Shane into not dying. And he’s absolutely right about Shane finding happiness. I wonder how he died, though. Do we know that, or not yet? Okay, I really liked this part “Carmen: I will not!She stormed out of the room. Cezar shook his head and sighed. . . . . . .Carmen stormed back in. Carmen: Why am I the one leaving? You should be.” LOL! Great stuff.
