    My Child – CHAPTER TEN

It took me a long time to get the courage to write this but I had to tell you this somehow.

I can’t live another day without you by my side. I know I said that I couldn’t be with you right now but I find it harder not to be with you then be with you. You make me feel whole. I don’t think I can handle life without you, Tee. You are the one where I feel that I can be myself with. I can laugh and cry with you. I can let my guard down.

You are so amazing; you are the one I want to be with.

I know this is only a letter but it does contain what I feel for you. Love. I love you.

    Yours always,

    Bette.

    PS: Call me.

Tina smiled a wide smile and ran to the bathroom. She wasn’t going to call Bette; she was going to go over to her house. She took a quick shower – record time – and walked to her daughter’s room.

“Hun, I’m going to go to Bette, see that your brother is ready in time okay?” She asked the half-sleeping teen.

“Kay.” That one replayed. Tina took her wallet and key. She ran to her car and got in. In ten minutes, she stood in front of Bette’s door. With shaky hands, she rang the bell. She then realized it was 6.30AM. Bette opened the door in her bathrobe, hair wet and still a tired look in her eyes but that soon disappeared when she saw Tina standing on her doorstep.

    “Tina.” She said.

“Bette… I got your letter.” Tina said. Bette didn’t know what to say but it wasn’t necessary. Tina stepped closer and pressed her lips against Bette’s who immediately wrapped her arms around Tina while Tina’s did the same. When they pulled back, Hannah, Jasmine and Kenneth began clapping and bawling. Both women chuckled and then looked at each other lovingly.

Tina was standing in the park waiting for Bette. They had decided to let their first real date be in the park or somewhere casual, no fancy dinner or something that costs too much money. That wasn’t necessary. She felt two arms sneaking around her waist and she smiled. Bette kissed her in her neck and then said in a low voice “Hi.”

    1. I really like your Bette and Tina. Their relationship is progressing into something very beautiful. I like that they are both so caring, honest, vulnerable to each other with no hidden agendas or involvement with other people that have to cast aside so they can be together. It’s rather refreshing as is this story. Thanks for posting.
