Never Give Up – part 2

When Helena woke up it was early afternoon, the light of the sun right on her face helped to come back to reality, after that long dreamless sleep her mind really needed.
The first thing she could notice as soon as she opened her eyes was a yellow sticky note on a glass next to the bed lamp. It read: “For your headache, take care. D.” The glass was half full of water, and there was a small familiar white pill next to it. Without hesitation she grabbed both and drank that down , hoping the throbbing she felt on her head would end sooner. She was only wearing a white t-shirt and panties. Her dress was in place on the armchair. She suddenly realized she didn’t remember anything of what happened the night before, just some flashes about her car accident, and Dylan’s worried face, and a foggy image of the road out of the jeep front window. After that, memories dropped in the darkest dark. She blushed when realizing Dylan should have taken her home, managed to bring her in house and into her bedroom, and get rid of her clothes while she was completely unaware of what was happening. “Well, if anything had happened, I would know that, right?” She touched her panties with a girlish movement, like a teenager that fears to get pregnant after petting. “Oh, fuck… How can you always make me feel so frustrated?” She slowly moved towards the bathroom going to take a shower.
After the shower, she started feeling better. And thinking clearly. So, after all, Dylan left. She wanted so much to talk to her she was not able to wait until she recovered. Helena felt her anger to rise up again, while going down the stairs and reaching the kitchen, when she saw the small paper on the counter. She read that aloud, as if to evoke her presence in the room.
“Hi Love. Hope you slept well, you surely needed it. I waited ’til I could, but I’ve a meeting for a casting audition for my next short this afternoon, that I can’t miss. I’m the director, after all.
Kit has called, I’ve reassured her you are fine and nothing hurts you, at least nothing physically… But you better call her back as soon as possible.
Being a rich girl, your fridge was quite a sad one… I went to the market and bought some food for you, hope you like that. Please take the time to eat something.
Ah, by the way, we’re having dinner together, tonight. I’ll pick you up at 8. We need to talk; I think I deserve the right to explain my reasons for behaving like I did, and most of all I think WE deserve a better “Goodbye” shot, if Goodbye must be.
Last thing: Honey, Please, try to stay sober until tonight, will you?
Love you.
D.”
Helena stared at the letter with half a smile. “You, arrogant, self-centered,b.. Oh you are so sure of yourself right? Poor little Helena will fall back in my arms again. But this will not happen. I’ll let you know what I believe YOU deserve…”
She throw the letter on the table and rushed for the bar desk. On the main closet, another yellow sticky note with the familiar calligraphy was waiting for her. “Please baby, be good. Last night you had enough. I’d like we can talk with a clear mind tonight. P.S. I could have locked the bar, or remove the bottles. But I trust you”
“”But I trust you!” Wow” How noble is she.” Despite she still felt angry and dislike Dylan’s confidence, Helena admitted to herself that was not such a great idea to drown her life under tons of alcohol one more time. She was strong enough to talk to Dylan even without that. At least she hoped so. However, her stomach grumbled and she realized she had not eaten anything since last lunch, if that could be called a lunch. For the first time in weeks, she was actually grateful to Dylan for one single thing she did right.

charlot, the story is great, you’re doing a great job!
well, thanks. I’m enjoying myself in writing this, hope you’ll enjoy the same in reading. Unfortunately I’ll not be able to post for some days after this, unless I’ll manage to write during working time, but this woudl be quite “un-ethical”, to quote Dylan. Have a nice weekend
Great update.
Thanks for writing this story. I am looking forward to seeing where you take this story. They deserve a better chance than what IC gave them. But there are so many issues to tackle. Your English is just fine BTW
