New Girl in town- Chapter 8
For what? Siobhan asked as she poked her head around the corner.
I have an interview at a film production studio and I want to look decent.
Well then I guess Im gonna have to pretend to be you then. Siobhan said slapping my arm slightly.
I gave her a glare before pushing her back into her room, heading to mine. I needed to get ready. I was hungry and I still hadnt picked out what I was going to wear to work. It didnt matter, Id end up wearing the same black pants and white shirt I always did. I wasnt trying to impress anyone. I served drinks to men in their three-piece suits all night while they ogled the cocktail waitresses and college girls attempting to sing at the karaoke machine.
Still, it paid the rent, and that was all that mattered. Siobhan hated the bar I worked at because she couldnt stand watching as men downed sophisticated drinks like Martinis and Manhattans. Worse still were the older gentlemen that sat all night and nursed a scotch neat (basically straight from the bottle, no ice, in a rocks glass).
It was better than the biker ***** hole I worked in when I lived on the east coast. I spent all night being shown pictures of the gray beards little ladies. Then again, they also looked at me like family, and if I was ever hassled leaving the bar by a newcomer, wellhe never went there anymore.
As usual, I picked my penguin attire and exited my room, heading for the kitchen. I had a long night ahead of me, and I didnt want to face it on an empty stomach. So I grabbed a leftover half a sub from the fridge and scarfed it down before exiting the apartment, yelling a loud goodbye to Siobhan.
So you really like her? Dana asked, looking at Lara who sat slightly off to the side at the table of 5.
Lara nodded softly, a small smile curving the side of her lips as she thought about the slightly style defunct blonde shed started dating recently.
Well thats great. Shane said with a smile.
Admittedly, Jake was slightly stand offish when it came to people she didnt know, Lara had picked up on that. Still, she wasnt the type to damn someone for being a little socially inadept.
