Now it was Tina’s turn to kiss Bette after her words. But her kiss was different. Her kiss aroused Bette as it did her.
Bette let go of her lips and looked down.
“Tina, you’re bringing me in a lot of trouble.”
“What, why, what did I do?”
“The way you’re kissing me right now………woman, don’t start something you cannot finish……”
“It’s an innocent little kiss. Am I not allowed to kiss you?”
“Innocent my ass. You know what you’re doing…….”
Tina laughed her rich laugh and shook her head.
Bette smiled. She liked it when Tina laughed like that. It made her wonder how she would be when making love to. Tomorrow she would make the appointment for a check-up.
“Okay, gorgeous, you said your sister is a singer. Why did you bring it up? Where are you taking me?”
“Remember when you told me to stay out of the Black area of the neighborhood?”
“Yes, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that.”
“Well I’m happy you did. Because blood is thicker than water and of course I went to the Black area of the hood. And guess what……….”
“What…..?”
“I found this little cafe, called John’s Juke Joint. Well I didn’t find it. I walked by and I thought I heard my sister singing. So I stopped to listen where the voice was comimg from. That’s how I found it. When I walked inside, there was this singer named Candace, singing one of my sister’s favorite songs. So she got me hooked on her voice. I sat down and listened to her singing. Afterwards she came over and we talked and I said I liked her voice it reminded me of my sister. She asked me if my sister was a singer and when I told her my sister was Kit Porter, she almost fainted. She told me that Kit is one of her favorite singers.
So since I enjoyed my Sunday afternoon last week, I thought I’d bring you there today. I hope you like Jazz music.”
Bette didn’t tell Tina that when she walked into the Joint, she started to sing along with Candace. She also didn’t tell Tina that Candace was surprised when she said that Kit was her sister, because of her skin colour. And last but not least, she didn’t tell Tina that she sang a few songs with Candace. Why couldn’t she open up to Tina. Maybe she should go back in therapy and foind out what was keeping her in holdong back information for Tina. Tina was the most wonderful person she’s ever met and she didn’t deserve the way she treated her. Never mind, she thought back tot he times she and Kit would sing together….

Great that Bette and Kit finally heard each other again after 5 years, but it is a lot to take in for Bette.
On the phone with her sister and just about to hear the voice of her father. Don’t think that was a smart move from Kit to hand the phone immediately to her father, but you stopped here and i desperatly want to know what Bette’s reaction will be!
