John came to their table and asked them what they wanted to drink. Bette ordered a juice and Tina asked for a cola. She didn’t want to drink wine, knowing that Bette was a former alcoholic.
“If you want to have some wine, please do.”
“No, I don’t think it’s fare if I would. And I don’t like to drink alone.”
Bette sqeezed Tina’s hand to thank her. She looked at her and thought to herself that she was very lucky to call Tina her girlfriend. Tina was so thoughtful.
Then it became quiet and the band started to play. Tina heard the most beautiful voice singing and she got lost in the music. Bette also was mesmerized by Candace’s voice.
When the song was over everyone applauded. Candace thanked the audience and started with another song.
In between songs she looked back stage and beckoned to Sonny that Bette was there. Nobody saw the interaction between them. But Sonny walked back from backstage and a few minutes later, he walked to the table where Bette and Tina were sitting. He introduced himself and asked the women if they minded that he joined their table. They didn’t. While listening to the music, Sonny also watched Bette. He could see some resemblance with his wife. But most of all he had to agree that Bette was a very beautiful woman. Tina on her side watched Sonny watching Bette. She wondered why he was watching her girlfriend the way he did. She moved closer to Bette and laid her head on her shoulder enjoying the show.
Candace sang her last song and would take a break. That was the moment Sonny left the table and walked away. He and Candace agreed that she would start a coversation with Bette and tell her she had something important to tell her. Then she would take her backstage where she would introduce Bette to Sonny.
The audience applauded and Candace left the stage.
“That is a very good singer Bette. I love her style. Is that the kind of style of your sister?”
“Yes and no, Kit has a very beautiful voice. I hope some day you will hear and see her sing.”

Great that Bette and Kit finally heard each other again after 5 years, but it is a lot to take in for Bette.
On the phone with her sister and just about to hear the voice of her father. Don’t think that was a smart move from Kit to hand the phone immediately to her father, but you stopped here and i desperatly want to know what Bette’s reaction will be!

Tina will have to be patient with Bette, until she feels ready to expose your truth and your past mistakes without sufocala; We have to respect their freedom of thought and decisions.
