“I’m just freaked out by this whole situation.”  

“ok, well let me just finish reading and we’ll go ok?”

“Ok.” I had to sit and I sat on the ground next to Tina.

Why didn’t I just tell Tina what happen right when she got back from Nyc. It was just things were going so well between us and I didn’t want her to doubt me or us!

Flashback to Tina’s homecoming from NYC

“Bette, baby… I’m home”

I was in the kitchen when I heard her sweet voice fill our house. She had only been gone 2 days, but I missed her like she has been gone for weeks. I walked out of the kitchen and we practically ran into each other. I gave her a huge hug.

“Hi baby- I missed you!!”

“I missed you T!”

We pulled back from our hug and I leaned in for a kiss. I had intended for it to be a sweet short kiss, but passion got the better of me. Our tongues were soon dancing together!

“Wow- Bette you really did miss me uh?”

I laughed and went in for another kiss. Tina was trying to not let us get too carried away.

“Where’s Angie?”

“She is napping, and she just went down so we have a couple of hours alone.”

“You have a one track mind!”

“My only track is loving you!”

“Smooth talker.”

Tina walked into the kitchen to throw away something and noticed the broken champagne  glass in the trash.

“Babe, what happened to the glass?”

I felt the heat rising in my face. The lie came out easily- too easily.

“Um I had a celebratory glass of champagne when I got home last night and I accidentally knocked the glass off the table.”

I had lied- something I swore I would never do again. Tina believed me without a second thought.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t here to celebrate with you baby, but I’m here now.” She took my hand and led me into the bedroom where we had a private celebration.

Back to reality

She goes back to reading “ I have no doubt that she loves as well, but things are not what they seem. Be aware of your relationship- I don’t want to see you get hurt again.”

“Bette what the hell is she talking about?”

This was the moment all I had to do was tell her the truth, but for some reason I said

“I have no idea T”
