Chapter Thirty-Three

“Please don’t tell me this plan involves me, Bette..because i’m not ready for any of that.”

“No, it doesn’t but it does involve someone who’s helped me in the past with my job with the CAC.”

“Helped you with your old job at the CAC?” Tina says with a questioning tone.

“Peggy.”

“You mean Peggy as in Peggy..Helena’s mother, Peggy Peabody?”

“Yes.”

“How did you come up with this? What mind you think of Peggy?”
“Helena did. Helena told me that Peggy is back in town because Winnie brought the kids by and Peggy wanted to spend some time with them..then I thought about how Peggy has helped me in the past and she’s a pretty powerful woman.”

“You think she’ll help you?” Tina asks.

“Peggy and I have a close kind of common bond when it comes to our love for art and once she finds out what Kelly is trying to destroy for me, I have a pretty good feeling she’ll help me out.”

“What do you plan to do exactly?”

“Well with the fact that Peggy is a very powerful woman, I’m sure she will have a few ideas in mind but whatever it is, I’m not losing this art gallery even if I have to calm it as mine.”

Silence hits the air for the both of us before I start to hear Tina begin to speak again.

“You actually want to fight for this gallery..”

“Tina you should know before anyone how much that having a gallery again means to me..”

“I know.. I didn’t mean it that way, I know this is your passion in life, your work with art and owning a gallery but I didn’t think that you would go as far as bringing Peggy Peabody in to this.”

“It’s not all just for keeping this gallery, it’s because Kelly is trying to destroy us, she’s trying to destroy my life and i know you probably don’t want to hear this but this is not what I thought Kelly would try to do, this isn’t the same person I knew in college, I always knew she was vindictive but i never thought she was this way but I want to stop her in her tracks.”

“Do you really want to do this Bette?” Tina asks.
