Chapter Fifty-Two
“Bette, that isn’t a smart thing to do.” Peggy says.
I stand there with his arm gripped around my neck while I hold back on his arm with my hands so I can breath.
“Let her go.” Bette says trying to fight pass Peggy’s guard.
“I could but that’s no fun.” He says. “Now..that cheque you promised.”
“This was not part of the deal.” Peggy says.
“I didn’t know there was a deal.”
“It’s too boring having to choose, plus I just doubled everything for my own pleasure.” He laughs.
My eyes lock with Bette’s.
“Sign it, Peggy.” Bette says looking away from me to look at Peggy.
She sighs and slowly pulls her cheque book out of her handbag.
Nothing is heard but the pen to the paper.
The pen stops and she steps away from the cheque while looking at Devin.
“You’ve got what you want. Now let her go.” Peggy says.
I fell a push and my body is thrown towards the floor but my body is caught by Bette.
“Tina.” She says on her knees holding with in them.
She helps me to my feet and we stand looking at Devin with his grip on Kelly.
“Now that I have this. It’s time to get more.”
“We are already to leave, boss.”
“Good. Let’s go.” He says pulling along Kelly with him.
We watch as he walks himself down through the hall and we get a sign that he has disappeared.
“You know what to do.” Peggy says.
In that split second, her men leave.
I watch as Bette walks towards James and unties him.
“James, are you ok?”
“Yeah. I’m fine. I’m glad to see you again.” He chuckles.
“You certainly go through a lot when working for me.”
“It’s all for the best.”
“I’m glad you are alright. Thank you for protecting the girls as much as possible.”
“Anytime.” He says as he stands to his feet.
“Don’t you worry, darlings. I’ll get everything back.” Peggy says
“I don’t care about that. As long Tina is alright.” Bette says walking towards me and pulling me into her tight embrace.
“I’m sorry, Bette.” I say into her ear in disappointment.
“This was already planned. It was going to happen no matter what. It isn’t your fault.”

OMG… this story had me stressed over Kelly.. I’m a lover not a fighter.. I usually don’t read stories like this but I got hooked in the beginning then you threw a curve ball so I couldn’t just stop reading…So thank you it was a great story…BnT
