    Not The End, Chapter 7

“Here take these napkins and place them on the table, sweetie.” Tina said to her daughter as she placed the napkins in Angie’s hands.

The door had then opened and in walked Bette as she placed her briefcase down and slipped out of her shoes.

    “Mama B is home!”

“Mama B!” Angie shouted running off to greet her mother at the door.

Tina walked back around the counter and took the cooked seasoned chicken breasts out of the oven.

Bette walked into the kitchen with Angie in her arms. “Smells amazing, T.” Bette smiled walking up to her.

“Thank’s baby.” Tina leaned up giving Bette a peck on the lips.

Around the table they sat enjoying the wonderful meal with smiles and small conversations until they finished.

“I’ll rinse the dishes and load them into the dishwasher and you should give Angie her bath and get her ready for bed soon.” Tina said looking at Bette walking towards her with plates in her hand.

“Sounds perfect, then we can talk.”

Tina took out of a bottle of wine from the refrigerator and uncorked it, grabbing two wine glasses she made her way into the living room placing it down on the coffee table in front of her as she took a seat on the sofa. She sat there for a little while with her thoughts before she took and grabbed her book from the bookshelf.

She had read close to three chapters before Bette returned wearing her pyjamas.

“I told her she can watch an episode or two of her show then it’s bedtime.” Bette said walking over to Tina.

Tina leaned up placing her book down then picked up the wine and started to pour the two wine glasses half full.

“Wine huh?” Bette took her seat beside Tina.

“Yeah, thought it would be nice.” Tina said handing Bette a glass. “How did the rest of your day go?” Tina asked Bette before taking a sip from her wine glass.

“Kelly made a suggestion that we should do another show for our new art portraits.”

    “So are you going to?”

“We will have a lot to do before we even set a date, so its questionable but i believe it will be good for our gallery if we do, we might draw in some big artists.”

“Sounds like a great idea, Bette.”

    “Is everything ok with you?”

“It’s just spending the day with Alice, she digs right in there.”

“What was it that she said to you, you were going to tell me?”

Tina took another sip of her wine before looking at Bette and speaking. “I told her i trusted you again.”

Bette was lost for words, she hasn’t heard those words come from Tina in a very long time. Her heart felt like it had skipped a beat, after years of a bumpy road between them everything was now starting to feel like it once was before they had took a wrong turn for the worse.

Bette’s thoughts quickly took a swing in her mind.

“She said she trusts me again, trust is a very hard thing to rebuild but we rebuilt it. But what happens when i tell her and she doesn’t believe me, does that trust fall apart again, god damn it Bette. And it’s not like i can just keep this from her forever, i would never be able to live with this lie plus Shane and Kit, they would never allow me to, and i would never forgive myself. She just told me she trusted me, so..when i tell her about this footage or show her maybe with her trust for me again, she will know nothing happened and it was just a misinterpretation.”

Bette woke from her thoughts and looked Tina in her eyes. “T.” Bette spoke placing her hand on Tina’s. “T, we are finally here. We have finally rebuilt ourselves for us and for our family.”

    1. Bette needs to grow a pair before Kelly shows Tina the footage. Otherwise she’s dealing from weakness. Why would Tina believe her? The longer it goes on, the less Tina will believe her in the future. All the trust capital Bette has built up will be decimated. Bette needs to tell Tina while things are really good between them. You’re writing this story so well. It’s interesting, characters are well developed and they actually have meaningful conversation. IMO, don’t have Bette drag on too long b/c it may lose its impact. Great job!
