    Nothingness

Pain.. Hurt.. Nothing could stop it, nothing could contain the rage that the poor girl had… years and years of distraught words that had passed into her ears, down into her insecure soul and stayed there for eternity. Tears streamed down her raged expressed face. She had had enough, nothing could take this pain away, and nothing could forever numb this pain. Nothing could help her mind communicate to the outside world, normalcy was something foreign to her yet a question that always presented itself at the wrong time, is what is normalcy? And why do all of us want to abide by it? The past years have hurt her more then ever. Nothing could possibly fix it; she couldn’t fix any of it. A small invisible person, trying to conquer the always-asked questions of the world. Why her? Why did she feel that she had to conquer some of them? To help her see the ‘future’ better? Or could it be the possible wanting to be normal? As she unclenched her fist the crumpled photo fell out of her warm hand and landed picture first into the small puddle that she crouched by. The swift, cool breeze passed her face, her tears feeling as if they were turning into small icicles and freezing them to her face. Crouching knees into her chest, she stares, stares at the puddle, watching how her reflection became disheveled every time the wind passed. The hurt still growing strong in her. The pain that will forever surge through her tiny frame. And her mind forever going to think of the past and how that if she may of changed one simple day, that her life may not be as bad as it was now. And what could become of her? All she knew is that this was the way that life was going to be. She watched as the photo drowned to the bottom of the small puddle, watching it glide for some moments before watching it sink, just as her life had done, sinking into a puddle of doubt.

Staring for a moment at the photo, questioning herself to pick it up out of the water or just leaving it there.

A huffed sigh was blown into the world, as she slowly stood to view the surroundings, stretching her back slightly. She surveyed the park the come across a small child crouched near a puddle, playing with a paper boat. Watching the small child’s expressions, how happy he looked.

Deep inside she wished that she could be a small child again. Never thinking about the cruel and perpetual world that lay ahead. Taking one last look at the puddle that was beside her, she walked down the road to her car and driving off back to the life that she had made for herself. The one that she didn’t want to be apart of. The one that she wanted to stop and start again. As she drove away, she once remembered when she was happy and longed for it again, yet it was the past and the happy past lay in that puddle.

    1. I hope you don’t mind a wordy comment and the presumption that my 2 cents might be helpful or wanted. Here goes anyway…that’s intense and has potential. If you’re planning on writing a story this could certainly be the opening scene when the audience/reader is introduced to the main character. It sounds like the protagonist of a pending story. It could even be Tina’s thoughts, for example, depending upon how you look at it. Good luck with it and I hope you put it into a story.
