ONE AND ONLY
CHAPTER 2

Kate was sitting looking over some briefing notes with one eye on the clock. At some point Tina was going to walk through the door and that was when things were going to have to be dealt with. She sighed and looked again at the witness statement – she had read it three times and she was pretty sure there was an inconsistency in it – a flaw that would help her in saving her client from an expensive settlement. She read the first few lines a couple of times and couldn’t see anything in the words that stood out as being wrong. She was just reading the second paragraph when she heard the front door open and close again. She put the statement down in her open briefcase that was sitting on the sofa next to her. After a few minutes the sitting room door opened and Tina walked in
“Hello “ Kate said calmly
“Oh hi – I didn’t know if you would be home or not “
Which was probably why you didn’t come back to the apartment when you bunked off school Kate thought to herself
“How was your day ?” Kate asked
“Fine – fine – I am going for a shower and I will fix myself something to eat -I am going to the movies tonight “
“No you aren’t “ Kate said
Tina’s eyes for the briefest seconds showed fear but she was a confident young woman. Instantly she went to a different stance
“Mom – why – come on – I won’t be late “
“You are not going out because your other mother and I want to talk to you “
“What about ?”
Kate sighed – it hurt when your only daughter lied so blatantly to you
“You have no idea ?” Kate questioned
“No “ Tina replied
“Are there any problems at school – you know that we want to help you “
“No problems “ Tina replied – her mind had instantly gone to the thought that the school had obviously grassed her up and told her parents about the incident in her first – and only class of the day. Shit – she had banked on the school not wanting to tell her parents mainly because in the past when Tina had been in trouble Emma had taken her daughter’s side. The head was a spineless chicken and had always come off worst in any battle of wits with her other mom. So it was either nothing and she was panicking for no reason or the school had told her parents – in which case she was going to have to talk her way out of this or she would find life getting harder. Her life was crap enough without not being allowed to go to the cinema.

Oh no! Looks like its really trouble for those two! I am amazed when read this story Ally! :-) Bette’s habit and Tina’s behavior are totally out of the picture perfect, and boy how I am so eager to read more about this!! :-D and see where are you going to take us!! Thanks Ally for the update and PPVS?! ;-)
Way to go mama bears! Put Tina’s smug ass in line. Hopefully she learns her lesson. I don’t know what’s wrong with Bette, but hopefully they figure out what’s wrong with her. Great update. PPS!
Amazing as always.Thank you.
I wouldn’t like to be Tinas teacher at all. And I know waht I am talking about as I am a teacher. Poor Emma and Kate I would say. Bette on the other hand doesn’t sound like a healthy teen too. That’s going to be very interesting. Thank you for the update.
Tina is so angry and Bette is so uptight that her parents considering to have her check by a Therapist….Should be very interesting if they finally meet. thanks Ally for the update.
Even I got a little scared with that warning. Wow, what a start Ally..thanks for thr new story
Booyaah!!! You’re back!!! Another interesting story. How do you do it? Unbelievable ever thought to bundle your stories in a book?
I thought Bette was a bit OCD. Interesting story so far.
OMG AllyE😱 I listened to The Clash and The Runaways when I read Tina and her parent’s part. I can’t wait to see them meet. Thank you Ally 😘
Hmmm its a bit interesting to me for people who chose to be parents that they think that they can slide right through that one as well. It doesn’t matter really what socioeconomic group you come from, if you chose to be a parent then you better, by God, be the best one you can be as its the hardest job in the world. Kids need their parents time and attention. If you don’t want to give it, then DON’T be a parent. I am really tired of bad parenting. Both sets of parents need a good wake up call. Thanks for the post!
Oh! I know !!! Bette is going to have to help Tina get better grades, this way she’ll have to “socialize” and Tina is going to study… Am I close ? Anyway, great chap’ !! Again, I can’t wait for the next one !!! Thanks Ally.
