Out of Closet (TiBette time-travel romance), Ch. 59

(Previously) She rested her head on Alice’s shoulder as her friend held her, offering her support and friendship. “I should’ve told her when I had a chance,” Tina managed to say between the sobs.

“Maybe,” Alice tightened her embrace. “But maybe she would just have left sooner.”

Alice held Tina as she cried, trying to comfort her grieving friend as best as she could. When Tina finally fell into an exhausted sleep, Alice called Shane and explained the situation. Shane promised to get the gang together so they could come to Tina’s house and be there when she woke up.

Suddenly, Christina’s hand went to her mouth as she gasped in recognition. Bette put a finger to her lips and motioned to Christina to follow her back behind the trees. Christina slowly walked after Bette, seemingly in shock. As soon as they reached the safety of the forest, Christina leaned her back against the big sequoia and stared at Bette in silence, trying to understand her sudden reappearance. Bette lowered her cloak and smiled shyly.

“Elizabeth…is it really you or just a ghost that came to torment me?” Christina’s voice was shaky and her eyes filled with tears.

“It’s really me,” Bette moved closer and reached for Christina’s face, gently wiping her tears. That simple gesture crumbled the last remains of Christina’s strength and she fell into Bette’s arm, sobbing uncontrollably.

Out of Closet (TiBette time-travel romance), Ch. 59

Chapter 59: Lonely, lonely that is me (Tina is coping with present and Bette is revisiting her past)

    Place: Los Angeles, CA

    Year: April 20, 2006 – Thursday

    Tina and Bette’s House

The sun was peeking through the open drapes and Tina squinted, covering her eyes with her hand. She moved slowly and lifted her head, disoriented and confused. The crying and wine from the night before thoroughly exhausted her and she couldn’t remember how she ended up on a sofa and why all her friends were in her house.

Alice curled up next to Tina on the opposite end of the sofa. Shane and Carmen cuddled on the floor, covered by a blanket and Kit was sitting on the chair, drinking coffee. She smiled at Tina, “Would you like some coffee, honey? I made it fresh. You do look like you need some.”
