    pancha305 has died

It is my sad duty to announce the passing of the woman known here as pancha305.

I will always be grateful to this site as it was the means by which I came to know this wonderful woman. Those of you who have read her know that she was intelligent, discerning, and wise. She told me once that her friends would be shocked if they knew she wrote fiction here, that they would think it most unlike her. But we knew different, it was just one more way in which this talented and remarkable woman reached into the world around her and made it a better place. Fran had many interests, in the arts and in nature. A lifelong Texan, a loyal friend, and a staunch Longhorn, she dedicated her life to education and was a beloved and integral member of her community.

Fuck if I know what I’ll do without her.

    2. I am absolutely stunned and at a complete loss for words at the news of pancha305’s passing. Ironic that it was pancha’s way with words that created the connection and yet I struggle to string a few together to express my condolences to her family, friends, and those that really knew and loved her. Those of us at the site were always entertained and moved by her stories, comments, and interaction within the site that I know she will be greatly missed. Hopefully, she is in a better place, one where USC is always last and the Lonhorns are always first…peace be with you my friend and thank you for sharing part of your precious life with me and the rest of us on this site…

    3. This comes as a complete shock and to say the least I am stunned. It was Pancha’s stories that I first began reading on the site. She will be greatly missed because of her very gifted ability to bring words to life. My deepest sympathies goes out to her family and friends.

    4. Damn,I had hoped this year would be a bit brighter than the last couple. I always enjoyed reading her stories. I can only hope that however this came to pass, that it was peaceful. My condolences to all.

    5. Wow. Such sad news.My prayers to her family. I didn’t know her, but I felt I knew her just from this board. I will miss her and her writing because she had a style of writing that I really enjoyed. REST IN PEACE PANCHA.

    7. I too am absolutely stunned and at a loss for words. I hope and pray she went peacefully. She was a wonderful writer and seemed to have very gentle heart and she will be sorely missed. My prayers to you and her family and friends.

    8. Awww….Hun, I am beyond the ability to form a functional sentence. I am so very very sorry for your loss and that of all her family and friends. Her last chapter ended as an NC17 with B&T loving, the irony of love. She was a prolific writer to say the least, and may her pen rest with her, in peace. As writers, let us also remember, that it is writing that makes an author and not vice versa. *Hugs* to you Hun. Love and Peace, Chicki

    9. I am certianly like everyone else……stunned……what an awesome writer…..wow…..i just dont know what to say…..i am at a loss for words…..my prayers and thoughts go out to her family and dear friends….

    10. this comes as a complete shock and i have no words to express my sorrow at the news…my prayers go to pancha’s family and friends and i know that she will be greatly missed here and her stories as well, i feel priviledged to have been one of her readers and to know her through her stories

    11. I will miss you deeply. Thank you so much for your amazing stories. They are full of love, humor, and wisdom; they keep lighting up my days. My condolences to your family and friends. Rest peacfully. I miss you.

    12. This is stunning and heartbreaking news. As a fan of her writing I can only express my gratitude for what she shared with the many strangers on this site who found her work beautiful and deep and fun. Blessings of love and light to her family and friends who are losing such a gifted and wonderful woman.

    13. You know when I saw this post and who wrote it I thought, “This is a joke…right???” My reflex reaction is to cry but beyond that I don’t know what to think or say. About a month ago when FF Land was a bit on the slow side I re-read “What is Love?” and got a kick out of it the second time around. I think it was just today that I was thinking about pancha’s latest story. I remember analyzing “After Loving You” like crazy and I probably drove her crazy until she was able to slide something past me. Then there was “Pick-Up Styx” (which was my non-traditional fic nomination) and how Bette and the senator cracked noggins. Pancha was one of maybe two authors who could get me to read a non-TiBette story where one or both was the central focus but they weren’t together. So here’s to pancha: For all the laughs, the tears, the anger, the anxiety, the relief, and the love. Thank you.

    14. I am a silent but faithful reader of fanfiction. I loved every story that was written by Pancha. The way she wrote was outstanding and memorable. I sometimes replay her stories in my mind. I wish to say thank you to Pancha, where ever you are, for gracing me with your words.

    15. I am so very sorry to hear this news. I did not know her well, though I read her stories. She posted comments on my very first chapters on this site and I was lucky enough to exchange PM’s with her in those early days. She seemed very passionate and sincere about her work and the B&T phenomenon. We have no information on what happened, but all I can say is that I hope she’s in a better place and that her family and those whom she loved find solace, strength and comfort, and that they be blessed forever with their best memories of her. God bless.

    16. I’m in total shock. She was my Longhorn friend and She was a Yankee fan and I was a Ranger. I know we all lost a wonderful person, writer and a beautiful person My heart goes out to you and her friends and love ones. She just took a short trip with her Computor and can do all the writing ND LOOK DOWN AT HER BELOVED lONGHORNS Thanks for letting us known about her passing

    17. How can this be? I’m at a complete lost. Wherever you are, know that you’re loved and missed. Thanks for sharing your time with us, however brief.

    18. Oh Pancha…I cannot express to you how much I will miss reading what your imagination created. Your writing touched me and so many others all around the world. Through this site you are connected to us all now, as we are to you. You are writing your forever-after now…and coming from you, I know it will be a glorious journey. Farwell for now…but we will all see you when our forevers join together. Michelle

    19. “What is Love?” Ranks as one of my favorite fanfics. Pancha burst on the scene with a fresh new voice. Her Bette was a unique creation. I really enjoyed following her journey to love and openness with Tina. Do you remember the symbolism of the seashell in that story? “Pickup Styx” portrayed the coupling of Bette and the senator, one of the few to do that. Again, her writing was fresh and entertaining. Bette and Tina at Bette’s first basketball game. The wise and ubiquitous Red — I loved her humor and her obvious love for these characters. Of course, this the type of comment that I wish I’d never have to make. Thank you, Pancha and God bless you. You made our lives brighter. …Shit, I hate this. There has to be a way to communicate if a person is ailing. This is a time when the virtual world leaves me at a loss. We have lost a good writer and a faithful contributor to this site. I’ll miss her and her comical yet touching writing.

    20. pancha305 will be sadly missed. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She and I had been PMing back and forth for over a year. I very much enjoyed her writing and knew her to be very passionate about the characters she wrote about in fan fiction. I will hold a good thought for all of her family and friends. p-305, rest in peace and see if you can talk Rosemary Clooney into belting out one of those tunes for you up in the clouds.

    21. pancha will be sorely missed. She had a wonderful and unique and methodical way of writing. I knew that she was ill b/c she had mentioned that in her author’s notes. I thought that it might have been fairly serious b/c she mentioned that it was and was tiring her out so she could only write somewhat limitedly. But her stories were glorious! Her pairing of Bette and the Senator was the best of that genre. The way she described how the Senator helped Bette heal was amazing. Her introduction of the coutesan was unique as well. She had a rare talent. It’s ironic that I just recommended her stories to someone looking for outstanding fanfic. I wondered why we hadn’t she a post from her in awhile. Now I know. I hope that her family and friends can take comfort in how she was appreciated by all that came in contact w/her.

    22. So sad and shocked to hear this news. Pancha was one of my favorites, and “What Is Love” one of the best stories. She was a clever, intelligent writer and will be sorely missed by this community. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

    23. Pancha will be sorely missed. Not only was she one of my favorite authors, but all of these comments here are a testament to what an amazing person she was and how many lives she’s touched. I will keep her friends and family in my thoughts and prayers. Let’s all find some comfort in that she is now at rest.

    24. Pancha..you were something else! My prayers are with her family and friends and I hope they all know how much she will be missed on this site. I think one of my last pm’s with her was something along the lines of Go Buckeyes!!!! but just for her I will say Hook ’em Horns!!

    25. That is why I liked pancha so much cause like me, we were Texans and Longhorn fans,,,she will be greatly missed, you are in a far better place that is for sure pancha!!!!!

    26. you enter the fan fiction world and sometimes we get so involved with the fiction and fantasy that we forget the nonfiction until something like this happens and we get a hard slap back into reality. i sometimes forget that the people i meet on the internet though i may have never in the physical i have in spirit and in writing i feel like they will be here for as long as i want them to be and then you lose someone ‘close’. i hope that those close to pancha305 find comfort in each other and in the fact that her spirit is always with them. rest in peace.

    27. My sincerest condolences to Pancha’s friends and family–it’s heartbreaking for us to lose such a gifted voice. She had a wonderful vision of Bette and Tina, both as a couple and as longtime friends in other relationships. The unique Bette and Tina she created in What is Love will remain emblazoned in my mind. I loved her sense of humor, Tina all hopped up for USC, the crazy honeymoon in Hawaii, and the search for the perfect bed. Oh, Pancha, you will be sorely missed. Thank you so much for all you gave us.

    28. My thought and prayers go out to her family… she will be missed… thanks for your love, your humor and thanks for sharing part of your life with us… MAY GOD BLESS YOU…

    29. I join all of you above in my condolences and sentiments. What a loss. What she made us all think about.!A favorite here. What a tragedy. Maybe she and fellow Texan Molly Ivins are now sharing quips and tips beyond the tethers of this earth.I’ve been off the site. T-Merlin was kind enough to inform me. Funnyone, is there anything any of us can do to help the family? A post office box number, a memorial fund?? In time, let us know. Right now I’m sure your grief is overwhelming. Our thoughts and prayers are with you aswell. Thank you for your courage in telling us. I can’t imagine what that took. Pancha, you’re bright, intelligient mind and sweet, sweet soul always came thru in your stories. Rest now. Sue

    30. Devastating news. She was a truly talented writer. All of her stories were exquisitely written, but my favorite was the one about Bette and the Senator; it was a captivating antidote to the horrors of Season 3. Pancha clearly outshone TLW’s writing staff. Her absence on this site will be felt for a long time to come.

    31. I like many others am just saddened by this news. I only knew her from her writing, she seemed an amazing person. She will be missed. Mt thoughts & prayers rae with her family and friends. Real life stinks some times. RIP Pancha.

    32. My deepest condolences to her family & friends. Her stories will be greatly missed on this site. I always admired those who can bring such emotion & love to their writing. 35. I’m completely shocked! I loved her writing especially ‘What is Love?’ My heart goes out to you and all of pancha’s family and loved ones. May she rest in peace.

    36. PANCHA, thank you for sharing with us your amazing stories. You were one of the GREAT ones and I will truly miss you. May you rest in peace my friend and know that my prayers will be with you and your loved ones. God bless!

    37. We will miss you pancha305. I for one fell in love with her writing and esp. “What is Love.” It remains one of my favorite stories from one of my favorite authors. I’m only glad I was able to experience her talent. My thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends.

    38. There is so much going through me right now. I can’t describe all those feelings. My heart goes out to your family and friends. Rest in peace pancha we will miss you.

    39. I’ve been a long time “lurker”,enjoying the stories by Pancha, as well as many other talented writers. Often I’ve wondered about the person{s} behind these lovely tales about a great couple, {i’m a tibetter}, and wish that i could put faces to the authors, but then again that’s a great part of the charm of this site, and not having a “face” has not changed my reading pleasure , as i can read and enjoy in “secret”, and boy did i read and enjoy Pancha’s tales! She will be missed, but think… the tales she can spin for others to enjoy in heaven ,eternally… my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

    40. She was a very creative, talented and wonderful writer. My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family. I will continue to treasure her beautiful stories.

    41. Some of us lurk in the shadows & pop our head up when something moves us. Some of you braver folks reach out thru pm’s etc, forming friendships that blossom. But who ever we are we’re all connected in some way. My heartfelt wishes go out to all those who knew & loved Fran. She is now in a place where she no longer feels any pain, only peace. I, like many others, will go back to read her stories yet again. Thru the wonders of this medium this little community has grown & I hope Panch305 knows how many people she has touched…

    42. I was a faithful reader, if not commenter, of all of Pancha’s work. She will live on through the words she has written here, and I’m sure elsewhere. I hope those closeest to her will see this outpouring as a tribute befitting someone whose words touched so many.

    43. I did not know the woman just her writing but I would like to offer up this chant to her. Even the gorgeous royal chariots wear out; and indeed this body too wears out. But the teaching of goodness does not age; and so Goodness makes that known to the good onesNamaste, Pancha305(The light within me sees and honors the light within you, Pancha035)

    44. My most sincere condolences. She was a brilliant writer, and though I never got to know her, she was obviously a wonderful human being. My heart goes out to all her friends and family, and my thanks for the wonderful stories.

    45. Wow, I am beyond stunned. Pancha was one of the authors I absolutely adored on this site. Her writing brought these characters to life in a way that made us love them more. I always looked forward to her posts and am deepy saddened to hear about her passing. My condolences to her friends and family.

    46. As a humblereader, I always enjoyed her histories, she was one of my favorites and her words are going to be missed. My condolencies to friends and family.

    47. How difficult it must have been to compose and post such sad news about someone who meant so much. “This talented and remarkable woman reached into the world around her and made it a better place.” Those words speak volumes, as did Pancha’s writing. It was unique, meaningful, and unforgettable. And seemingly, so was Pancha. My sincerest condolences.

    48. What a talented writer. Her dialogue was always spot on. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. May they find the peace that she now has.

    49. Oh my God! I’m usually a silent reader and I must say I’m stunned beyond words at this news. I loves all of Pancha’s stories and read them several times. She definitely had a way with words and I wish she is in a better place now. My prayers and thoughts go to her friends and family hoping they find the strenght to overcome such a terrible loss. God Bless You Pancha!

    50. Wow i am absloutely stunned at the news. I knew she was struggling with an illness but did not know the details. My heart and condolences go out to her family. Her stories will be missed.

    51. my condolences to her family and friends, right now there aren’t any word that make fade away the pain of her lost but what should comfort to all of us is that she is in a better place where aren’t pain or suffering and where she can rest peaceful enjoying of that beatiful place.

    52. I am at a loss as to any approriate words, but one thing I would like to say is that throughout her illness Pancha always conducted herself with such grace, dignity and repsect, never using her words to gain sympathy for her circumstances. Her stories have touched more people that she would ever have imagined and I feel honoured to have been one of those people that have had the privilege to read the words such a dignifed woman has created. Rest in peace my friend and know that you will be so sorely missed.

    53. I too am shocked and saddened by this news. I just went back and re-read “Pickup Styx” which I LOVE, and realized that pancha was not well when she started that story, yet it caught and kept so many of us with its pure spirit and quality and humor and pain. There are but a few genuinely gifted writers and pancha was one of them, and I know that the qualities of the story reflect the qualities of the author. I can only offer my prayers and condolences to her family and friends and my gratitude that she is no longer suffering and is at peace. Pancha, we will miss you always.Skycaptain…I hope you are doing okay.

    54. oh wow I’m really speechless right now. I’m so sorry for her friends and family and I also will remind Pancha and her family in my prayers. I know she wasn’t well and I hope she will be in a better place right now. I really adored her stories and especially Pick up styx wich she started not being well at all. I admired her for that. Rest in peace dear pancha.Sky baby I’m here if you need me ok.

    55. Mostly, I would like to be remembered/As someone who was passionate for life/The days of unsought ecstasies are numbered/However long we linger in the light/I was one who cultivated wonder/Less of one contented to explain/ Delighted by the promises of hunger/Enduring for their joy the years of pain/Gifts I had aplenty: Some I savored/Others sacrificed for others’ needs/Remember me as someone who was favored/Despite constraints, to tumble in the leads/Ocean to what winds I could not be/Nightrider through what worlds I could not see.You rocked, Pancha. I loved your writing, your humor, your passion for the stories and clearly for life. Rest well.

    56. My condolences to her family and friends, she will certainly be missed. Her writing had the ability to get under my skin and affect me in ways I never thought possible – rest in peace Pancha.

    57. Im very saddened to hear this news,it puts everything in prespective, and of how short life really is, what a privilage to have read her stories…My thoughts to her family and friends..

    58. I can’t even explain how I feel now. Reading pancha’s stories moved me and this news does even more to me. I can’t pray for her of for her family, I’m not a religeous woman, but I can tell you for the bottom of my heart, I will never forget you

    59. It is strange to feel a sense of loss for someone you have never met, never held a conversation with, could not have identified if she crossed the street in front of you and yet through her writing, and free sharing of her creativity, readers of her wonderful fanfiction knew Pancha in ways that we might never have discovered if she was just somebody that you might talk to in the street or know as a work colleague. We know her humour, her originality and energy for life. It was a privilege to know her that way and be granted that insight into a very unique take on life. I for one will miss her greatly.

    60. i read the news this morning and went back to bed hoping that i would wake up and it wouldn’t be true. i am very sadden by Fran’s passing. i get very little time to read but i would see her postings and wherever i was supposed to be i would have to read it. she wa def one o fthe best writers. she also managed her illness with a dignity that i am sure i would not have. my thougts are with her family. at the moment my main thoughts are with my friend Sue who is one of the finest women i have had the honour of meeting. it must be so hard to know a friend is ill and Sue has been a true friend to Fran and many other women. i am blessed that she ismy friend/ at a time like this its more important than ever that we cherish the friends we have made on this site. for me i am honoured to have the friends that i do. peace x

    61. Definitely one of the best…. I’m still in shock about this, did know she was ill but didn’t know the seriousness of it. May God give the strength to her family and friends to go through this difficult time. Rest in peace dear fanfic writer.

    62. Funnyone, I am completely overwhelmed by this tragic news. Pancha305 was a much loved and prolific author on this site. It is a testament to Pancha how many have stopped to share their grief at this great loss. Please pass on my condolences and heartfelt sympathies to her family and love ones. A person can be measured on the lives they touch and Pancha touched so many of us. Her wise words and talent shone through. It has been a pleasure and honor to read all of her stories.Remember “To live in hearts we leave behind. Is not to die.”

    63. I am extremely saddened by this news. I thought her stories were some of the best and always looked forward to a new post. It is truly amazing that so many have been so touched by someone they knew only through her wonderful stories posted here. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

    64. I am always on this site reading this amazing stories, don’t know the ladies but through theire writing, I feel like I know them a little…pancha305 will be missed here and my thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family. My deepest sympathies.

    65. I only knew Fran a little, but was one of the few that she told that she was ill. She did not want anyone to know and of course I respected her wishes. Even though I knew she was ill my heart just dropped to read the news of her passing. She was a talented writer, had great wit and she will be truly missed. My condolences to her friends and family and those who knew her it is sad news indeed to hear that she is gone.

    66. Right now I don’t know what to say. I just finally got caught up with some stories that I was so behind on and would you know, Pancha was the one I was currently reading. I found this verse that I wanted to leave with the family.Absence from the body-Is presence with the Lord-Put on His whole armorFind His Spirit within the sword.Find strength in the legacies.Embrace the memories.Never to be erased.Never to be forgotten.

    67. I’ve been sitting here in shock trying to think of something to say that would be fitting for someone who had such a way with words…someone who would capture us up in one of her stories…this is so sad…she will truly be missed. My prayers are with her family and friends. Thank you Pancha…rest in peace.

    68. Words mean so little in times like these. Words are just words after all, letters placed in their respective order… But who knows where the waves of connection flow? Maybe somewhere, someone feels, senses, knows how she is missed and loved…My condolences to everyone…

    69. i am saddened by this nenws. ive had enough death this christmas/new years season and my heart breaks a bit more. didnt know her except through her beautiful writing. by her words she brought happiness and joy to my life. my thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.

    70. Loss is never easy and its hard to understand why the people we love leave us so unexpectedly. My heart and prayers are yours and her families. She will live on in our thoughts and her stories will never be forgotten. God has called for his angel to come back home.

    71. My condolences to each of her family and friends. May she rest in peace… and even with the pain you’re feeling now remeber one thing: You’re only forgotten if no one is thinking of you again. As long as she is in your hearts, she’ll never be far away !

    72. Wow, what a loss. I express my sadness at the loss of such a talented writer. Her stories touched so many of us. There will be a void on this site and in our world. May her energy be dispersed throughout our universe.

    73. My heart goes out to the community and to pancha305’s family. I can only hope that her sould has found the peace that I have yet to find in mine. To her family, I say this: May your futures be filled with love, peace, and life. God help us. All of us.

    74. I don’t know the person but it’s always sad and a tragic to see that she is gone. From reading from tons of people that she was such a great writer that is such a great talent that she must have had. She’ll be missed. Glad that she found this site and decided to embrace the talent she had to the rest of the fans here on the L WORD site.Rest in peace.Z

    75. Pancha’s stories were some of the first that I read on the site and was deeply moved by her work. Though I didn’t know her personally, it was indeed an honor to grasp the parts of her that she shared through her amazing gift. And I can only imagine that she was an absolutely amazing individual, so I know this is a difficult time. My deepest sympathy and prayers for peace and strength go out to her friends, family and loved ones.

    76. I was drawn to this site initally because of my love for the L Word. I kept coming back because the stories drew me in and helped me see that my little corner of the world isn’t so small; there are so many out there who love women as much as I do, and it’s okay to be that way. pancha305 was an exceptional writer; devoted to her fan base and prompt in responding to any & everything I had to say. In reference to her Pick Up Styx story, I pray the Ferryman take the best care of her.

    77. My deepest condolences to Pancha’s family and friends. From what the writers and readers in this fan fiction universe who knew her have written here and elsewhere, it is clear that Pancha was as wonderful a person as her stories. I never imagined that Pancha’s illness was so serious. How could someone faced with such awfulness continue to write with such vividness and gentle humor? It is humbling and an incredible demonstration of the human spirit. I was delighted as I read Pancha’s stories, saddened as each one ended, and thrilled when a new one appeared. When a new chapter showed up on the site, I (USUALLY only metaphortcally) rubbed my hands with glee. Unlike many of you, my only relationship with Pancha was through reading her stories. I often wondered about the author–someone with such great expository skills who could pull readers into her own take on well-known characters and write with such imagination, insight, humor and generosity. There will never be another Pancha story, and the unique B&T of her creation as well as her non-canonical characters are gone with her passing. I mourn Pancha through the loss of her fan fiction world. I hope that no one will think that I am showing a lack of respect for the magnitude of the loss being experienced by those her knew Pancha personally, but I feel her passing and grieve.

    78. I am very sorry to hear this news, i loved reading her stories which said s much about the truly wonderful person she was my deepest sympathies to those who knew and loved her i hope she is i a happy place x

    79. Condolences to Pancha’s friends and family. I knew her only through her work, but her ability to convey so much through her words speaks to the person who created the stories. I’m certain she will be greatly missed.
