Chapter 20
The Planet – Wednesday Evening: 48 Hours Before CD Release Party
Max was on a ladder adjusting the webcam in front of him.
“What about now?” he asked into his Bluetooth headset.
“Still nothing, Max,” came the voice on the other line.
“Ok, let me check the wiring again. Hang on.”

Kroll Design Group Offices
Bette was sitting in her office going over some quarterly reports that were due on Monday. She occasionally glanced at the dark computer monitor waiting for the webcam signal to produce the live feed that Max was setting up at the Planet.
She could hear Max fumbling with the wiring and cursing under his breath trying to get it to work over the office speakerphone.
“Knock, knock, Bette.” Phyllis said hovering in the office doorway.
“Hi Phyllis. I didn’t know anyone was left in the building.” Bette said as the monitor began displaying snow and the sound coming from the screen speakers corresponded to the image. “Max, I’ve got no picture, but it’s starting to snow a little so you must be close.”
“Alright.” Max’s voice filtered through the speaker.
“Is your sister excited about the show on Friday?” Phyllis asked, interested in her employee’s side project.
“We’re all excited Phyllis. Are you and Leonard going to come to the show?”
“Leonard’s going to New York Friday morning to meet with the head honchos at some pharmaceutical company looking to jumpstart ad prep for Super Bowl Sunday, remember?”
“Oh that’s right.”
And Molly’s coming into town for a weekend visit.”
“Oh yeah? She must be, what a junior in college now?”
“Yes she is.” Phyllis sighed. “My baby is all grown up now, Bette.”
Bette chuckled. “Well hey, if you want to bring her, I’ll have both of your names at the door so you won’t have to pay the cover.”
“Oh, nonsense, Bette, of course we’re more than happy to pay the cover to see your sister play. I was a big fan of hers back in the day you know. Anyway, I’ll have to check if Molly would be up for it. It’s not cool to hang with mom anymore, but who knows. I’ll let you get back to work though. Good night, Max!”

Dang they keep missing each other.
Gosh, I can hardlywait for the next post to see if Bette sees Tina when she gets to the Planet. Hope Bette hurries over to the restaurant and gets an eyefull of a certain blonde. Great update. Thanks for posting.
Hey meloveslu, Great selection of updates as Bette and Tina were torn apart again. At least it is looking now as if they might reconnect soon. Amazing how the rest of the gang cause all the problems and then wait for Tina and Bette to sort them out. More please as they so need to meet again. That kiss has to be finished.. Looks like you do love to torture your readers! :-/ after candance appearred and might be come on the gigs (which i hope she won’t make it :-p), then you make Jodi appear too. I just hope that Bette won’t be blindsided from Tina… :-) thanks btw for many chapters you posted! Is that your way of pampered us on mother’s day?? :-)
