Chapter 56
The Planet
“I just wanted to be the one to tell you before Alice tried to spin it into something it’s not, that’s all.” Shane said with her head down as Angus and Kit nodded in understanding.
Kit reached for the young drummer’s hand.
“Hey, girl, don’t sweat it. There will be plenty of other offers. I know Alice doesn’t see that right now. But we’ll be a’ight.” Kit reassured. “I ain’t mad atcha, Baby Girl.” She squeezed Shane’s hand which allowed Shane a small smile for the first time all day.
“Shane, it’s cool. Everyone knows how dedicated you are to the band and we know that you would never do somethin’ to intentionally sabotage anything for us.” Angus stated. “In fact, I think what you did for Bette was awesome. She’s totally gaga over Tina right now.”
“Uh, my sista is 100% Lady Gaga over that woman!” Kit agreed.
Shane smirked and nodded her own agreement with Kit’s statement.
“So you haven’t talked to Alice at all this morning?” The older Porter asked.
“Nah, I left the house before anyone even woke up. Had to get some perspective by myself for a minute, ya know.”
“I do.” Kit sympathized.
“Everyone should be at work by now. But I’ll let you guys in on a little secret.” Shane lowered her voice and leaned over the table as her two-person audience did the same. “When I left this morning, Tina’s car was still in Bette’s driveway.” She raised her eyebrows up and down suggestively.
“Little Porter, you dirty dog!” Angus whispered to his band manager as if she could hear.
“Oh please, my baby sista has more class than to take a woman home and sleep wit’ her on the second date.”
Both Shane and Angus gave Kit a look that told her she was only kidding herself.
“What?” she asked defensively.
“Kit, with Bette’s track record, a second date sleepover is very classy.” Shane said matter-of-factly with a smirk.
“Maybe so, but here’s hoping Tina was able to ward off any of my sister’s advances.”
“I don’t know Kitty Cat, my gut tells me that Tina was prob’ly the one who was puttin’ the moves on Little P.”

Oh,my god.Bette will be fired? Why Leonard is so serious.The most chapters are easy to understand.But last chapter is too difficult to understand and I don’t know how to express myself and leave comment. Maybe there are many vocabulary about the law. Never mind, I will keep on lookong up dictionary and read your story. Thanks for update!
God I hate cliffs. What did Bette do this time – will it be a “heads will roll” Kroll meeting?
Hey MeLL! Another post….I feel spoilt…yeaaaaah! Glad to hear You like to steer clear of drama….. Lover’s spat with a soupçon of betrayal is a far cry from the more “heavy” stuff as you call it, but from reading this chapter we are not out of the water yet, as the drama may not come from where we originally thought! It is amazing how Bette never seems to catch a break in any stories! I still love it as much as ever, so if you can lay off the Stella for a little while longer and keep entertaining me….you will make me a very happy girl indeed! ;0) thank you for posting and for your lovely shoutout
So far, so true!!!! Behind lot’s of fun music that people enjoy everyday, there’s lot’s of difficulties, politics, money, money, money. More of it, the same ones that do take the money. That’s why so many people do create their own label to deal differently knowing that Internet, youtube, facebook for example are good weapons to keep it up just like the majors. Majors used to get money, but since that people have their own label, money is getting to them too now.I had to deal with it, but I was lucky to join the music industry sharply and been a jurist in my earlier days. Nice update!!! Let me get some more pop corn. Keep it up.
nope…not loving the cliffys (ARGH). Ok now I totally want a starwberry crepe w/ whipped cream (so thanks). What could Bette have possible done? Maybe it’s good news,but from the way you’ve set the scne i doubt. Also,i’m gonna make a request to read more about Bette and Tina in that sexy car of hers. Now that their friends, FWB,lovers, buddies….whatever there is no reason for them not to be hooking up in that CADDY on every opportunity they have. On thne hood, in the back seat, driver seat…I’m sure u can come up w/ something. Great update, pps.
Uh-oh…this cliffy is not good.. Will Bette in trouble because of the band?! Well.. The good thing of that, if it happened, say-if she’s being fired by the Krolls maybe she can be the full time agent/manager for the band?! :-) hehe.. I love the group interactions, really can picture Shane, Angus and Kit scene… :-D and lol the way Shane can’t help herself to share the information about Tina’s car is so cute! If Bette heard about it she would say that Alice is successfully contaminated Shane-I guess!! :-p Anyway MeLL, thanks for the updates!!
