Poker – Short Story
"Do you feel guilty for bailing out of the party tonight?"
Tina’s lips lingered on Bette’s neck for another moment, opening her eyes with confusion before drawing back and looking her in the eyes. "The party?"
"I’m sorry," Bette chuckled, shifting her knee from under her wife. "I’m sorry T … I’m just … I feel bad."
"Now?" Tina smirked, arching an eyebrow as she moved her own hips, reminding Bette of their very current desire. "You feel … bad?"
"I always feel bad with you hunny," Bette smiled, bringing her knee up for friction between Tina’s legs, running her hands over the surprisingly strong arms near her head. "I just … I feel like we should be going out or something."
"Sounds like you don’t enjoy kissing me," Tina teased, trying to keep a straight face.
Bette shook her head, her hands roaming down and over Tina’s jeans. "Mmm … I love when you wear these baby. You’re so hot."
"When I’m comfortable?" Tina smiled, dipping her head in again to press her lips to Bette’s. For another minute, they forgot about their conversation, until Tina pulled away again. "Wait. Maybe we could … do something."
"Oh we can do something alright," Bette moaned, pulling Tina closer as she pushed her own hips up. She was throbbing with their passionate embrace. "I was so stupid … please don’t listen to me."
"You know, I do feel bad about staying in tonight," Tina sighed, pushing herself up and forcing Bette’s line of sight to follow close behind. "I guess we should have gone. I just feel so tiiired." Then with a lazy smile, she looked back to Bette. "Are we boring?"
Bette laughed as she got to her feet, shaking her head in ridicule of the question. "That’s the most preposterous thing I’ve ever heard." As she turned to Tina, there was a devilish look on her face. "And I have an idea that’ll prove my point."
"We are not playing that again," Tina chuckled, waving her arms together and then apart again. "No no no no."
"Oh yes yes yes," Bette chuckled, already walking toward the hall. "Don’t you dare deny this sacred tradition."
"It’s hardly sacred!" Tina laughed, shaking her head and slumping down to the carpet. She pulled the coffee table closer and waited, a little smile lighting her face. "Bette Bette Bette," she whispered to herself, running her hands through her hair.
