Ch 19

Sania was driving home she was happy to have acquired a new sister; she always wanted to have one.  She smiled and looked in the mirror to see what Amy was doing.  She caught her eye and they smiled at each others.  Amy was doing some coloring in her book now.  Amy then looked at her mother’s direction and then looked again at Sania.

America:  Shall we wake her up?

Sania:  In a little while sweetie.  Let her rest.

America:  Are we there yet?

Sania:  Not just yet but not long now.

America:  Oh have you seen the film, Are we there yet, Sania?  It was so funny.  The kids were so naughty.

Sania:  Yes I have Amy and it was hilarious.

Tina stirred in her seat and stretched her arms out.

Tina:  What, what was that baby.

America:  Oh mom you’re awake.

Tina:  What I was asleep?  How long did I sleep for?

America:  Well ammm I don’t know an hour or something.

Tina:  What no way!!

America:  Yes way mom.

Tina looked at Sania to confirm that.

Sania:  Well about an hour or so.  We didn’t want to disturb you because you looked really tired, so we left you to it.

Tina let out an embarrassed laugh and looked outside the window.

Tina:  We are almost there!  What was that you were asking earlier baby?

She smiled and turned back to look at her daughter.

America:  Well I was asking Sania, ahem my big sister, if she has seen the film Are we there yet?

Tina looked at Sania puzzled and frowned with a smile on her face.  She wasn’t sure what was going on.

Tina:  Big Sister?  How did this come about?

America:  Well mom…. I asked Sania if she wanted to be my big sister and she accepted as simple as that.

Tina:  I see and do I have anything to say on the matter?

Sania/America:  No not really.

They all burst out loud laughing and giggling like school teenagers.

Tina:  Well in that case I have to make it official since I am the mom in this gathering.

America:  Oh how?

Tina extended her arm and shook hands with Sania and gave her a kiss on the cheeks.
