    Realizing – Chapter 21

    21

Tina walks out to her car and once inside she dials Bette’s number.

“Hi babe. Are you on your way to pick up the kids?” Tina asks.

“Yeah, I just parked outside the day care.” Bette replies.

“Okay, I’ll just drive home then.” Tina says.

“Sure. How did it go?” Bette asks.

“It was good. He really wants to get to know Evan.” Tina says.

“Yeah, I can understand that.” Bette says.

“Why don’t we talk more at home. Any cravings for dinner?” Tina asks.

“Anything you make is okay with me. You know I love everything you make.” Bette says.

“Yeah, I do.” Tina replies with a small chuckle. “I’ll see you at home, drive carefully.” Tina says.

“You too, love you.” Bette says and they say goodbye and hangs up.

Tina drives by the market to pick up some things.

She pulls into the driveway right after Bette and the kids. Angelica comes running towards her as she opens the door and exits the car.

“Hey sweetie, had a good day?” Tina asks, picking her up.

“Yes. I’m hungry.” She says. Bette smiles over.

“She’s been telling me she’s hungry all they way from day care.” Bette says. She walks over to Tina and leans in and kisses Tina on the lips. “I’ve missed you.” She says.

“I’ve missed you too.” Tina replies after the kiss. “Hey Evan. Had a good day too?” Tina asks.

“Yes. It was fun.” He replies and follows Bette inside. Tina set Angelica down so she could get the bag and her purse. Once inside Tina walks straight to the kitchen to set down her groceries.

“So, what are we having?” Bette asks, coming up behind and sliding her arms around Tina’s waist.

“Mmmm… Pizza.” Tina says after a few moments.

“Good choice.” Bette says softly. “You want any help?” Bette asks.

“No, I’ll manage.” Tina says and leans in for another kiss. “Go and play with the kids.” Tina says.

“Yeah, shout if you need me.” Bette says.

“I’ll come and join you while the pizza is in the oven.” Tina says and smiles.

“Okay.” Bette says and walks out of the kitchen and into the living room.

“Mama, can we watch TV?” Angelica asks.

    1. Uh, how many times is Tina going to tell Martin that taking care of Evan is an inconvenience to her, with the schedule and the move and all?? Whether he is or not isn’t important when it was a life or death situation, and who could relax and get better worrying that they are imposing on others terribly?? I think something is going to happen to Martin and Evan will stay with his new family.

    2. Am I the only one who thinks it would be bad if Martin made a full recovery? Sure, B&T are great with Evan, but the little boy already lost one parent at a young age. Meeting his dad and thinking he’ll get better only to have him taken away as well would be shitty.

    3. I didn’t see tina as saying Evan is an inconvenience… and I kind of agree that Evan might be a little better with B&T… he seems really taken with T … i’d hate to see him hurt when Tina leaves…especially if he has issues with men b/c of samuel. great story! pps

    4. Maybe if Martin was mentally ill or something. But he’s not (that we know of…no that’s not hint, Lauren lol). I just don’t think it’s necessary to have Evan live with B&T to make for a good story. Evan and Angie don’t have to be siblings or whatever to be close. It’s Lauren’s story so she’ll write what she feels is best. I’m just giving another opinion which we know are like assholes in that everyone has one.

    5. Im sooo torn…I dont wnat anything bad to happen to Martin but at the same time I want even to go with B&T…ugh Im just gonna trust you to figure this one out lol

    6. Well well well – how is this going to turn out :O)Glad to see Martin getting better but even gladder to see Bette and Tina’s familie getting along. Post soon

    7. Poor Evan, and Bette and Tina are saints for making Evan feel welcome. Even if Martin gets well and Evan lives with him, both Bette and Tina will feel that urge to expand their family.

    8. Who would want to live with ‘ol nasty Martin when you could have beautiful Bette and Tina for parents, and Angelica to boot! …Poor Martin, I think he’s toast. And such a nice man…

    9. I don’t think Evan would understand ‘biological’, trust Bette!!! lol It’s great that Evan has Bette and Tina until his dad recovers…poor little buggar

    10. lol…for a second Lamentamini I thought you wanted ol Marty Mar to bite the bullet. I do thnk he has internal injuries they didn’t notice and he will not recover and Evan will remain with B&T though. I just know that I love this story and I hope you post soon Lauren.
