    What Happened?

    Shane and Angie had a wonderful day together. She loved having her at her house. She had bought a little jumpy seat and swing that Angelica thought was a riotbut at 5:30 Shane started to wonder where Bette was.
    It wasn’t like her to be late for anything, and she was was usually early when it came to her baby.
    Shane tried her cell phone and was immediately switched to voicemail.
    At 6:30 Tina called.
    She was looking for Bette who should have been home with Angie hours ago.
    When Shane told her that Bette had never picked the baby up she could hear the confusion in her voice.
    What do you mean she never showed up Shane? She said
    Just that – I expected her around 3:30 and never heard from her. I figured she got caught in traffic or something.
    Don’t worry about Ang she’s fine, we’ve had a really nice day together, but I wonder what happened to Bette.
    Should we be worried?
    There was a long silence on the other end of the line. and finally Tina said, I’m gonna come home right now and I’ll pick up the baby – if I haven’t heard from Bette by then I’ll call the artist she met with this afternoon and see if she can tell us anything.

    She tried to contain her rising panic.
    Really Bette was just late.
    Maybe her cell phone died.
    She was probably sitting in hideous traffic on the PCH freaking out – she HATED sitting in trafficbut as she was driving home
    another underlying quiet fear crept over Tina, maybe she was with someone else.

    It was almost an hour later when Tina got to Shane’s.
    Neither of them had heard from Bette, now Tina was really worried.
    She had listened to the traffic reports on the way over and although it was the usual slogfest on the roads there were no more jams than usual.
    Where could she be that she couldn’t get to a phone?
    Even if her car had broken down by now she would have found a way to call. This was just not like Bette.

    Tina bundled up the baby and went home to find Trevi Arlen’s phone number – she was the artist who Bette was making a studio visit to.
    She hated making the call, feeling a bit like a suspicious wife looking for her mate, but those feelings disappeared when Trevi told Tina that Bette had never showed at the studio.
    She said she was so confused when Bette didn’t show that she thought she might have mistaken the date – so she had called Bette’s cell, only to get her voicemail.
    Panic was talking over.
    What could have happened?
    What if she was hurt and in a hospital somewhere?
    She didn’t know what to do.

      Bette had too many life-changing events happen at once, father dying, losing her job, new baby…

      I cannot type with my fingernails bitten down to nubs!

      First of all..intriguing story so far. I just read all 3 chapters. I was starting to wonder if Bette was having baby blues or is there soemthing else going on with her that you justhavent gotten too yet. Alice at least knos something isnt right in Betteville.

      Please, dont say Bette has been in an accident and is sitting in some hospital with amnesia….I cant take another one of those stories.

      Anyway, I am eagerly awaiting for next chapter which probably wont be long since your spitting them out like someone with nothing to do. ^-^
