    Recovery 7

Dana got to the hospital early the next day as she wanted to see Alice before her appointments. On entering the corridor where Alice’s room was she slowed down, suddenly aware that she had no idea what she was going to say. Throughout the night she had been worrying about her encounter with Jackson and how it would affect her relationship with the young blonde. Granted she was hoping for something a lot deeper than the usual professional relationship that she had with her other patients and giving Alice’s recent reactions she was sure that her feelings were reciprocated, however she still didn’t want her new friendship to be broken either.

“Shane was right.” She muttered to herself. “I should have left alone.”

She stood by the door of Alice’s room and looked in. The blonde had obviously just woken up as she still looked ruffled and confused with sleep. She started to stretch gingerly and winced a little, Dana just watched, it was good to see Alice like this, one because she was beyond cute and was still gorgeous this early in the morning, but also because Dana could see how much pain Alice was still in.

Alice rubbed her eyes and caught Dana watching her; she smiled, taking in Dana’s appearance. She was in her regular clothes, nothing too fancy but Alice thought she still looked good.

“Morning sunshine.” She grinned at her. “You see me last thing at night and first thing in the morning; people are going to wonder about us.”

    “Let them.”

Dana walked into the room; she had been fully prepared to tell Alice all about last night and was willing to take whatever Alice threw at her; but when she saw Alice’s smile she just couldn’t. Not yet anyway. God what this woman could do to her with just one smile she thought. Let me just have a moment, then I’ll tell her.

“To what do I owe this pleasure?”

    “Pleasure is it?”

“I’m sure anything with you is a pleasure.”

    Dana grinned at this.

“Well you’ll just have to find out for yourself.”

    “Oh don’t worry, I will.”

After a small gulp Dana took a breath. This was it; it was time to tell her. She was just about to open her mouth when Lara walked in to do the morning checks.

    “Sorry, I didn’t realise you weren’t alone. I won’t be a minute.”

Alice gave Lara a brief smile but turned her attention back to Dana.

“So, did you have a good time last night?”

Not wanting to get into the details in front of Lara, Dana opted for an easy answer.

    “It was interesting.”

“I’m getting sick of just being here. I kinda want to leave.”

“Well you are getting stronger. How about after your session today I take you outside. Just for a stroll around the gardens, sound good?”

    “Sounds great.”

Lara had finished her checks and she looked at the readings. Alice’s temperature had been slowly rising, it was nothing to worry about, but they had to be careful. Alice had been coming on in leaps and bounds and had been really pushing herself; so much that any type of infection could knock her back quite a distance.

“I’ll leave you two alone for a bit, but Dana you will have to leave soon. Can’t let you disrupt Alice’s breakfast and the doctor will be on his way.”

    Dana looked up at Lara.

“Absolutely, I’ve got to get ready for my first appointment anyway.”

After Lara had left Alice grinned at Dana.

“I don’t mind if you stay. I quite like the idea of having breakfast with you. Although hospital food isn’t what I have in mind.”

“Oh really, well what would you prefer?”

“I’ll let you figure that out for yourself.”

Dana started to leave then stopped. She should really tell Alice about what had happened the night before, but she figured that it could wait. She really did have to get ready for her first appointment and she would be seeing Alice later anyway.

    “I’ve gotta go.”

    “Okay.”

Dana turned around and started to walk out.

    “Hey.”

    “What?”

    “Get back here.”

She walked over to the bed and looked at Alice.

    “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing it’s just that I’ve got used to this every time you leave.”

Alice reached up and gently gave Dana a small kiss. Dana smiled at her.

“Now you can go. I’ll see you later.”

Dana walked out of the room smiling. Yep later, everything will happen later.

    1. I think Alice should just get used to kissing Dana every time she enters the room, not only when she’s leaving. And I’m with Alice, I love the idea of them having breakfast together, lol. I’m sure Alice will forgive Dana, but she must tell her soon. Thanks for updating. This story is so sweet.

    2. So excited to see a new chapter, felix86! Don’t like this fever thing. I hope it’s not serious. Argh, Dana! You should have told her. Hopefully Jerkson won’t show up before she has the chance to. The kiss, though? Awwwww! They have it pretty bad for each other. Great update. Thanks!!
