Rescue Me, Chapter 48
Sunday brunch continues – 1 hour later…
“I still cannot believe you could do something like this without telling me first,” said Alice incredulously.
“Alice, since when do I check with you first before making decisions affecting my personal life,” asked Tina.
“Well you should, at least something this big.”
Tina just shook her head and laughed. “Alice you are too much. How about if you help me with my portion of planning the wedding?”
“Are you serious? I’d love to. You know, I have this friend who has a friend who once planned a bar mitzvah for the nephew of a friend of the Governor. Anyway, she can…”
Bette cuts Alice off, “OK Al, save it. You and Tina can discuss all of that at work. Right now I’d like to settle up the tab and we’ll be on our way.”
“Why is that Bette,” asked Alice, “Do you have to drag her home to make ‘mad crazy love to each other’?”
“Wow, she really was listening when you broke the news,” says Tina as she smiles at Bette.
“As a matter of fact AL, YES,” smirks Bette.
“Like bunnies, these two are like bunnies I tell you,” mumbles Alice.
Bette finds Kit and settles her bill. She returns to the girls who are still buzzing with excitement.
“Come along my little energizer bunny,” sniggers Bette as she leans in and kisses Tina’s cheek.
“I’m right behind you Bugs,” laughs Tina as she gets up from the table. She turns to Alice and says, “Don’t forget, you and I need to have a talk tomorrow. Don’t even think about not coming in. The only excuse I’ll accept is you calling off dead.”
“Alice swallows hard as she replies, “Why Tina, I wouldn’t even consider calling off.”
The others chuckle at this interaction and they are shot Alice’s best “if looks could kill” glare.
Tina shakes her head and says, “Have fun kiddies, I know we will.”
“They are just so fucking cute,” offers Shane.
Later, at the Kennard – Porter abode…
“So what do you feel like doing today T?”
