Unable to make up her mind about what she should do, Alice decided to try one more test for herself: closing her eyes, she attempted to clear her mind of everything that had occurred that evening with Lara. She tried to imagine herself entirely without obligations or responsibilities to either Tasha or Lara. Then, she focused only on her feelings in order to let her emotions decide which woman she would rather be sharing a bed with right now, at this very moment. After a few minutes, Alice opened her eyes and sighed heavily as the answer came to her without hesitation or doubt.
Check for Lara, she thought as she re-adjusted her mental list once again.

“Hey, Alice, what’s up?” Kit said when she noticed Alice standing at the front counter of The Planet waiting for her cappuccino. “God, you look awful!” Kit added bluntly, as she noticed Alice’s exhausted expression.
“Gee, thanks, Kit,” Alice replied sarcastically, drawing an apologetic laugh from Kit.
“Sorry, girl,” Kit said. “It’s just… well, what happened last night? I stayed at Shane and Jenny’s longer than you, and somehow I suspect I got more sleep.”
Alice shrugged non-commitally. She had only just woken up half an hour earlier after having slept for all of four hours, and she didn’t really feel in the mood to talk about it with Kit. When Alice had awoken, Tasha had already left her apartment, having had to get to work early that morning. Alice had felt a little guilty about sleeping through her departure, but she was also somewhat relieved to have avoided what would surely have been an awkward breakfast, especially after Alice’s weird behaviour the night before.
“Where is everyone anyway, Kit?” Alice asked, noticing that not one member of the gang had made it to The Planet yet, despite it being 11:30 in the morning.
“They’re all at the clubhouse,” Kit said. “I think they’re decorating for Bette and Tina’s ceremony tomorrow. I’m heading over as soon as I can get out of here.”
“Fuck!” Alice yelled, startling Kit. “That was today? Oh, fuck! I’m the best man and I’m not even there! Fuck, fuck, fuck!” Alice continued to curse frantically as she paid for her coffee and ran outside to her car.

great update, im sure tasha is a nice person but seems like alice n lara really should be 2gether.
wow blue you keep out doing yourself which is just great! I agree with laura1888 Tasha seems nice and like alice said shes the “safe one” and safe is boring… lol so hooray for the laceness btw that last part was hot hot hot keep it coming! plz post soon :)
Yay, swipe away with any lines, it makes me feel part of the process, thanks;) And don’t think for one minute that your updates are in any way ‘boring’;) This was a H.O.T. one, you must be given a prize for One Who Knows How To Leave Us Hanging. Yay for the idea of exploring some potential reasons why Lara might be doing the bolting thing, you are so good at giving us really believable character insights and development. And hellooo, our two heroes are so obviously smitten–gah! and they don’t know what to do with it, double gah!! Love it. As others have commented, Tasha seems great but…hopefully she’s also smart enough to realize that Alice’s mental checkist? Very telling…! Good luck with work stuff and post as soon as you can.

Oh man..why does a nice/safe person always get left out in the cold..lol. Its unfair for an innocent party to get hurt but i guess a story needs some drama..*sigh* Be gentle on Tasha so Lace can be merry on their way :)Thanks!
AHHH!! What was Alice thinking!? This situation totally sucks…no one can ever get anywhere because they’re both thinking too much into things. I mean, Alice needs to just drop Tasha because she obviously wants and loves Lara. Lara…she’s so sweet and I feel for her soo much and I wish they could get it together. Sigh..but love is never ever that simple. I can’t wait to see what happens between them in S4 IM PUMPED! Anyways, i can’t wait to see what happens next between these two. Alice has already made up her mind which girl to choose. I mean, to only look at the pros and cons of Tasha vs. Lara says enough. ;) I didn’t see that kiss coming. But yeah, attraction like that can’t be denied. You can try to hide it, but it’s pretty difficult. Especially when the other person is feeling the same way. I don’t think Alice wants to be deliberately unfaithful to Tasha. She’ll proabbly be torn between these two women for a while. I wonder what she will do next…more precise, how and when will she dump Tasha? ;)
i’ve only Just discovered your story a few days ago!in the moment alice & lara are advancing to my favourite couple.the two of them simply belong together.i hope that in the series it will actually come to that.i enjoy your story & hope to read more soon.my friends at work wonder why i’m lounging in front of my screen on my brake reading on this site. lol.
Now it’s through the haze of jet lag that I’ll comment….as you can see, I am TOTALLY addicted, as I feel it compulsory to log on and check to see if you’ve updated! (besides, there’s only SO much fun you can have at Oktoberfest, before you run the risk of spending a night in jail…..we stopped full shy of that!)….enough about that….GREAT update! I have to say, I do love the way you write the characters. Lara is so quick to avoid confrontations, and Alice is so analytical about everything (LOL at her final “check for Lara”). Really true to what we’d expect based on the character development from TLW. Your insight and spin on the relationship is really a delight (read here “IC, it’s not too late to change your mind and bring Lara back late season!!!”). And finally….Alice in the parking lot with the mini on the lawn….sounds like something you’ve either done or experienced! LOL….we have a restaurant nearby that has a perfect lawn for a mini….and one always seems to find it on Saturday night! Yet another benefit to the teensy things.
