The sacrifices Bette willingly made, the heartfelt gestures, they made her lie in bed during the nights and watch the woman sleep, count her each breath, and thank the universe for letting her have this kind of love. She was the luckiest woman on this planet.

     

    Though the women declined on traveling to celebrate their marriage, Michelangelo couldn’t get it out of his mind. He observed his mothers work and take care of him. They deserved a get away, a retreat to have time for themselves.

    Bette actually liked the idea. She was having second thoughts on this whole no honeymoon thing. Despite they had fun wherever they were, she still could need a vacation after everything fell into its designated pattern. So they planned to make the trip to Europe again, for she wanted her son to see Rome and Florence for himself.

    “But it’s your honeymoon. I don’t want to be a third wheel.” He protested with his arms across his chest. And he had some suspicious red cloud on his cheeks.“I mean… you do stuff in your room…”

    “Michelangelo!” Bette gasped a laugh, clearly getting what he was saying. That was too awkward.

    He quickly squirmed away out of his mother’s reach. “I’m ten, ma, I’ve had class. You… you are completely entitled to do… whatever… you do.”

    “Wow, uh, ok. I don’t know what to say now.” Bette regarded his son and felt her cheeks burn as well. “Hmmm… you sure are all grown up, kid. Well, I was kinda counting on the school to educate you about all these adult… activities. Sure saves me the trouble.”

    “I didn’t like the class, not at all.” He pouted and complained. “I mean, it was fun at first, you know, older guys always make jokes about it but the school just put this picture of our parents doing it, and… yuck!”

    It made Bette laugh out loud. Oh that was funny. She remembered when she was about that age, guys teased girls for sure, but after the school showed them scientific footage about insemination, and told them that was how they were conceived, she couldn’t bear the idea of her late mother and her father together for months. “Geez! That was exactly how I felt. Come here!” She reached to him.

      I don’t know. It’s such a relief for me to actually finish a story. And it’s sad for me too.
      This story, although originally a little side-away, a break from the other one, now holds a very special place in my experience on this fanfic site.

      My readers, your passion and your appreciation fueled my strength all the way to make this happen. I sincerely thank you for that.

      Tomorrow my journey to build a life abroad starts. I’m sorry if there’ll be less frequent posts on my other story “The Lucky One”, but I’ll try my best to continue writing.

    10. well that was just perfect, and I see you granted my wish by adding little Angelica at the end, and they lived happy ever after, now it’s 100% perfect. Im so sad to see this is the end, but as they say “all good things must come to end”.
