    Say Nothing Chapter 20

    Chapter  20

    “Reeealy” Tina exaggerated her response.

“Yes, reeeally. We’ve know each other since college.”

“I know a little about her, so, I think I will be highly visible.” Tina knows that Saundra has dated several people in the art world both male and female.

“Maybe we could all do lunch.” Bette wanted to include Tina if she wanted to be included. “But you have nothing to worry about. She’s like a sister or something. Just too weird.” Bette dismissed any thought that she could ever be interested in Saundra.

“Lunch would be great.” Tina flicked Bette on the shoulder. “Now, where is that big box?”

“Oh, it’s in here. I set this office up for you and Giselle.” James motioned for Tina to come into the office.

“An office in The Porter Gallery. I like!”

“James thought that you would be more comfortable during your time here if you had someplace to kind of hang your hat.” Bette gave all the credit for the setup to James.

“I think that I would have room to set up and work. Tina’s arms were crossed over her chest as she sized up the work area. I would like to be able to see out that back window better though.”

“It’s a parking lot. I mean, granted it is a nice parking lot, but, it is just a parking lot.” Bette was wondering why the fascination with the parking lot.

“But it’s not. It is not just a parking lot. It’s an expanse of space. There is life there. People and objects move through it. I have seen the sun light coming through that window and it casts wonderful natural  light through the room. I really like the way the room feels. Would it be ok? I would like to set up back here in this corner where I can look out.”

“Tina, what ever you need.” Bette took Tina’s hand and as they left the office she looked back at James. “Anything she needs.”

    James nodded his agreement.

    10:30 A.M.

The phone lines are lit. James and Giselle are both answering. “Yes, it is correct. Tina Kennard will be exhibiting several of her pieces in The Porter Gallery.”
