Chapter 12

Alice, Shane, and Dana are sitting in HIT club on Saturday night.  Alice and Dana have just updated Shane on what they found out about the connection between Denbo and Kelly fucking Wentworth. 

Bette and Tina decided to stay at home tonight.  Bette spent the afternoon cleaning the pool and Tina was tired from working in the garden all day.  And for once, Alice didn’t give them a hard time for not going out with the girls.

They needed to talk strategy.

Helena walks over from the bar with Kit.

“I talked to Mummy again and she has her people looking harder into Denbo.”

Before being hired by the school district, all employees have a background check and fingerprints taken.  Denbo is clean or she wouldn’t have been hired.  But it never hurts to have Peggy Peabody give you the once over.  Or even twice over.

Kit, the co-owner of HIT with Helena as her silent partner, is agitated and angry.

“What the hell is up with the fucking bitch Denbo…..she treated Cindy bad….and now she thinks she can get her nasty hands on Tina?  My baby sis will kick her ass back to her mama’s birth canal when she gets wind of this.”

“We know Kit…that’s why we want Mummy to have a plan before we tell Bette.  She’s the only one that can talk to sense to her sometimes.”

Shane is sitting quietly.  The other night, she was driving home after a spending time with Carmen.   When she drove down the street to her home next to Bette and Tina’s, she thought she saw Dawn’s tricked out, yellow caddy parked in the ‘turn out’ at the end of the street.   That car is pretty distinctive.

Shane was tired that night and didn’t think much of it at the time.  But now?  She keeps the information to herself…but plans to do some checking around on her own.

Alice screeches again.

“Until we come up with a plan, we all need to keep our eyes on Tina.  Helena, we’ll all be in classes….it’s up to you to keep that freak away from TK when we’re in class.  Okay?”
