Her eyes are getting full of water.

She continues: ” What you told me yesterday at Alice’s and what you told me last night, when we spent the night together, was bullshit. Like always, lies, lies, LIES. How could I’ve been so naive? To fall for you again!”

She walks to the door.

” Shane!” I try to keep her from walking through the door, by holding her arm.

” Don’t touch me! Nevermind, I really don’t want to do anything with you.” She tells me with a fierce look in the eyes.

Shane is right. The only thing that really counted for me was work

I had a troubled past My parents kicked me out when I was 14 I managed full time school and a full time job I took a lot of drugsI had poor grades but I really wanted to become a journalist. And so I worked hard I took summer classes, saved a little bit of money and took some night classes to study journalism My hard head, my determination and my attitude brought me up to meet some good people and to have a couple of contracts Words up! Some other contracts came and I wasn’t asking for them Just because I worked hard to be where I am today And it took some time The only thing that never let be down was work

” C’mon Shane! You can’t be serious? Do you really think that I would be so unfair to you? Do you really think that I’ll leave you behind without anything? Do you really think that I’m just an opportunist? Do you really think that I came all the way back from Canada just to ***** you?”

” I don’t know You hurt me once You could go for twice” She says with tears rolling down from her eyes.

” C’mon! I’m not bad as you think I am. Let’s go outside and talk. You’re upset and I understand but listen to my plans first. Okay?” I say with an understanding voice.
